No, not for the reason you think. I live in the upper floor of a duplex and have super inconsiderate downstairs neighbours who slam doors at all hours of the day and night, so hard it makes our floor and the bed shake. I bought these to try to stop the bed vibration, which they do. I can tell the difference when any of the bed feet slide off them, as the vibration returns. Unfortunately they can't stop the noise, which still wakes me up. Thank God I'm moving next month. As mentioned, one of the issues with these is that the bed feet easily slide off them. They would work better placed inside some kind of cup that would keep them and the feet together. Also, it would be nice if they came in a higher loadbearing capacity. I bought the strongest, 70 duro, and the first set I bought, the ones under the middle feet of the bed broke as those carry the most weight. This set, I put two each under the two middle bed feet and they seem to be holding up better, but I haven't been using them for very long.

Recently installed new Front Load washer in second floor laundry room. All install directions followed to a "T"! The extreme vibrations when, the machine went to spin cycle, were felt and heard throughout the house. Home service call by Factory repair person determined no machine malfunctions and proper install.I purchased these Sorbothane Vibration Isolation pads. The machine still vibrates however the "shake, rattle and roll" is not passed on to the floors and ceiling of my house. Pads have been in place for 4 wash cycles so far they continue to function with no sign of fatigue or loss of effectiveness!!!

Folks saying these don't work on turntables and other small electronics -- you're right, they don't. These large ones are rated for hundreds of pounds of weight on them and if you put something light on them, vibrations will just go through them like they aren't there. If you are stuck with these, cut them into smaller pieces and it may work better. Otherwise just buy the smaller thinner ones. These are great for heavy speakers, but are still way too thick for smaller nearfield monitors. Get the smaller washer style ones, or the half-spheres.Also, they dry out and lose effectiveness over time -- I swap mine out every couple of years. Still an incredibly effective solution, much better than every "iso pad" type solution I've ever encountered.

Low frequency sound from our pipe organ was rattling the china and glassware on a large set of metal shelves in our kitchen. Based on my estimate that the shelves plus contents weigh at least 600 pounds but less than 1200 pounds, I chose these 70 durometer pads which are rated 150 to 333 pounds each (total 600 to 1332 pounds). Had the load been heavier, I would have needed larger diameter pads since 70 is the highest durometer (stiffness) available.I emptied the shelves, placed a fender washer on top of each pad to spread the load, and put one under each of the four supports. After re-loading the shelves, the vibration problem was gone.Initially I was concerned that these 6 foot tall shelves might sway too much in an earthquake or other accident, but after a few hours the pads compressed to about 2/3 their original thickness and became very stable. They have been in place about a week now and are still completely effective for isolating vibration; I will update if that changes.Because the manufacturer states that these contain a plasticizer which can stain surfaces, I placed aluminum foil under each pad. However, the plastic sheets on which these are shipped would probably do as well or better. The key to success with these is to choose the dimensions, durometer (stiffness), and load rating carefully to match the application. For light loads, choose more flexible (lower durometer) pads, and for heavy loads use larger and less flexible pads which can support the weight.

Seriously - buy these and put them under the feet of your turntable. I bought this set as a gift for a fellow vinyl lover, but they are big enough to be used under most of my power tools as well. They will eliminate floor noise, minimize motor noise, and minimize skipping.
