Ich war zunächst skeptisch, auch wenn die Produktvideos im Angebot recht überzeugend wirkten.Zum Gerät selbst:Es ist in Größe und Gewicht recht „wuchtig“ – für ein Reisedampfbügeleisen überraschend groß. Das Handling wird bei längerer Nutzung durchaus anstrengend. Eine einzelne Bluse, ein Hemd oder eine Hose am Bügel zu glätten, geht allerdings recht zügig, sodass das Gewicht dabei weniger ins Gewicht fällt.Bestellt habe ich das Gerät hauptsächlich, um unsere sehr großen und schweren, lichtdichten Vorhänge zu glätten, die von der Decke bis zum Boden reichen. Diese auf einem Bügelbrett zu bügeln, ist extrem unpraktisch, zumal frisch geglättete Partien dabei oft wieder zerknittern.Die Vorhänge bestehen aus mehreren Lagen und sind sowohl nach der Lieferung als auch nach der Wäsche stark verknittert. Ich war daher sehr gespannt, ob der Jack & Rose Dampfglätter damit überhaupt zurechtkommt.Meine Erfahrung:Gerät ausgepackt, mit destilliertem Wasser befüllt, die Anleitung überflogen – und losgelegt. Schon nach wenigen Sekunden zeigte sich: Die vielen kleinen und großen Falten verschwanden tatsächlich sichtbar vor meinen Augen. Zur Sicherheit rief ich meine Frau hinzu – und auch sie sah sofort, wo ich bereits geglättet hatte. Sie war begeistert, wie edel die Vorhänge plötzlich wirkten – und das, obwohl ich nur etwa einen Quadratmeter behandelt hatte.Allerdings: Nach kurzer Zeit begann mir wegen des Gewichts der Arm zu schmerzen. Auch meiner Frau, die dann übernahm, erging es nach wenigen Minuten ähnlich. Das Gerät ist definitiv kein Leichtgewicht.Ein weiterer Nachteil:Das Gerät ist nicht für Über-Kopf-Arbeiten geeignet. Wer einen bodenlangen Vorhang glätten möchte, braucht eine zweite Person, die den unteren Bereich anhebt, damit man von oben nach unten arbeiten kann. Wird der Dampfauslass nach unten gehalten, fließt kein Wasser mehr nach – der Wassertank muss stets waagerecht oder senkrecht gehalten werden. Das ist leider schlecht gelöst, gerade weil in der Produktbeschreibung ausdrücklich auch Vorhänge als Einsatzbeispiel genannt werden.Ein flexibler Schlauch mit beweglicher Ansaugkugel im Tank – wie bei anderen Geräten – hätte dieses Problem ganz einfach lösen können. Deshalb ziehe ich einen Stern ab.Praxistipp:Unbedingt nur destilliertes Wasser verwenden – wie vom Hersteller empfohlen –, um Kalkablagerungen zu vermeiden. Das erhöht die Lebensdauer und erspart häufiges Entkalken.Mein persönliches Fazit:Trotz kleiner Schwächen bei der Handhabung sind wir mit dem Ergebnis sehr zufrieden. Die Dampfleistung ist stark, das Glätt-Ergebnis überzeugt – auch bei dicken und schweren Stoffen. Für Reisen finde ich das Gerät allerdings aus zwei Gründen ungeeignet: Es ist relativ schwer, und man müsste zusätzlich destilliertes Wasser mitnehmen.Insgesamt vergeben wir gute 4 von 5 Sternen – mit klarer Empfehlung für den stationären Einsatz zu Hause.

That’s why I was really happy to see that the Jack & Rose iron supports 100V-240V. It may seem like a small feature, but for a travel device, it’s very important.The iron is packed in a high quality packaging and was sealed in plastic foil. The build quality is exceptional, and I really mean that. In my opinion, the manufacturer did a great job delivering such a well made device for just 62 euro. In terms of size, it’s compact but not tiny. So if you’re looking for an ultra compact and super lightweight iron, this might not be the one. I also give the manufacturer a lot of credits for including a carrying bag, which shows they truly understand the use case and have considered what customers need.Regarding ironing and steaming performance, because of its size, it takes a bit longer to iron clothes compared to a full size press. However, unlike my previous iron, this one can be used vertically, which makes it a very effective steamer especially for removing wrinkles from delicate items like suits. You can also select the fabric type, and it adjusts the temperature accordingly. Most of my clothes (at least the ones that I iron) are made of cotton, and in my tests, it removed all wrinkles without any problems. I also really like the pressing function, it helps create a nice, sharp crease in shirts.Overall, I really like this iron. To be honest, it offers much more than what you'd expect for the 62 euro price tag. I definitely recommend it and give it a solid 5 stars no doubt.

La compré para un viaje largo por trabajo y no puedo estar más contenta. Ocupa muy poco espacio en la maleta y pesa lo justo, pero aún así tiene la potencia suficiente como para dejar la ropa sin una sola arruga en minutos.Una de las cosas que más me gustó es que tiene doble voltaje, así que no tuve que preocuparme por adaptadores complicados en hoteles. La enchufé tanto en España como en EE.UU. y funcionó perfectamente. Se calienta rapidísimo, en unos 15 segundos ya está lista para usar, ideal cuando vas con prisas.El vapor sale de forma constante y fuerte, y gracias a los modos de tejido pude planchar desde camisas finas hasta un pantalón de lana sin miedo a estropear nada. Me encanta el modo delicado para prendas como blusas de seda. También usé la función 3 en 1 y de verdad que es útil: sirve para planchar en seco, con vapor o incluso como alisador rápido para prendas ya colgadas.Además, tiene detalle muy bien pensado de seguridad, como la desconexión automática y el sistema antigoteo, que me dio tranquilidad al dejarla enfriar.En resumen: es una plancha de vapor de viaje muy bien diseñada, eficaz, segura y versátil. Muy recomendable para quienes viajan con frecuencia o simplemente quieren una opción práctica para tener ropa impecable sin complicaciones.

This is my second travel iron, the first being quite a bit smaller, lighter and cheaper, so is it worth paying more than double the price for this new iron that does have a few extra features?For me, I don’t think so at the marketed price but if you can take advantage of one of the deals that pop up then yes, it’s a good travel iron to own.The build quality is very good, the iron is strong, very sturdy and operates effortlessly. The functionality is the draw here as this iron offers the option to press clothes with the clever design that allows it to open up; my cheaper alternative is only an iron/steamer. There are also several fabric types to select from, another feature that is lacking from my first travel iron. The question here is do you need the press part? I feel the iron/steamer functions are good enough, doing a very good job when I’m on the move. Possibly they’ll be a time when I need to press a crease, for a wedding maybe but the reality is I don’t think it’s a feature I’ll be using all that often. Consequently, for the extra cost and weight - this iron is at least 25% heavier, as well as being twice as big and bulky – I think I’d nearly always pack the smaller, cheaper iron for my travels.As a convenient backup at home when you don’t want to get out your standard iron, I think this option from Jack & Rose could be very beneficial and I will add that many will find it great for when they’re on the move, just depends what you need from such a product and how efficient you want to be with bulk, size and weight when you’re away from home.
