UPDATE 1/9/24: I had to get 3 teapots to find one where the lid is a tighter fit, and it still wobbles a bit. I was going to keep it, but now I'm debating over whether this is a good idea for a near $50 glazed pot. Why isn't the lid a tight fit? For this price point, it should be a given.Beautiful ceramic kyusu! I expected this to have a blue tint, and I held off on buying this for over a year. It is NOT blue at all, but a gorgeous bronze/black glaze! I was pleasantly surprised! My only issue with this item is that the lid wobbled around and was not a tight fit. I requested a replacement, hoping this was a fluke. Fingers crossed that I get an amazing replacement!! =DSo, I already own a clay tokoname kyusu, but I wanted this because I NEEDED a teapot for loose leaf herbals where the infuser/filter was the same size as the teapot. This is very hard to find, and I don't like using glass. Glass seems too fragile to me, and I already own a glass teapot for this purpose and I don't like it because, that lid also wobbles around on the top LOL (and because of the fragility of the item). Somehow the combination of the glass and the wobbly lid just seems like I'm asking for a problem to arise. So I wanted to try this teapot! I brew a lot of loose leaf herbal teas and I make them very strong, so I need a large infuser to be able to fit all of the loose leaf tea inside. If you brew loose leaf herbals, it can take up a lot of space and it especially can if you use as much loose leaf as I do!! haha I successfully brewed a very large pot of a blend of herbs I put together. It was wonderful! The spout sits a LITTLE bit low on the pot and I have to be careful not to fill it to the rim, because the water will spill out of the spout. So I would normally give 4 stars due to this issue, but it's extremely difficult to find a perfect teapot for what I need it for. So, I would just make a suggestion to the manufacturer to have the spout sit a little higher on the pot so the user can fill it all the way up without water spilling out. I would preferably have the spout be long and narrow and have the tip of the spout sit higher than the actual teapot so I can fill it all the way up without the water coming out. I did try another pot from the same seller with a similar type of spout, but I had the same issue, oddly enough. Plus, that pot was larger, and the infuser was smaller than the pot size. Yes, I know, it's hard to expect all of these things when I'm not even using it for green tea (but I totally could if need be!). However, I do not actually expect to find a teapot like I am mentioning. I just figure, maybe if I put these requests "out here in the universe" the teapot making gods will hear me.....and make the perfect teapot for my needs. I do know it helps for manufacturers to know what their customers are thinking. I already have several clay teapots for loose leaf gong fu tea brewing (as my finger dexterity is too terrible to use a gaiwan). Now I am just putting my teapot thoughts out there, and hoping the replacement I get of this teapot will not have a wobbly lid and will have a tighter fit inside the teapot. =D =D Thanks for listening.
