Was easy to install and configure. You must use the CleanSweep's volume control to "set" the volume level, or there will be a hiss a low volume levels. Other reporting hiss are most likely not using the volume control. I used 3M double side tape to place the control along the lower edge of the dash on the driver's side.I set the radio volume to my normal listening level, ran the configuration CD, and then used the CleenSweep's volume control to set the volume level.I still use the radio volume/steering wheel control to adjust the volume up/dn a little bit while driving. I have been a little problem with the calibration of this equipment because the package don't have included the Calibration CD, now I need to by the JL Audio Calibration CD for my way and it isn't easy to find in Amazon.

This was a defective unit that Mobile Soundworks sold me. I had a installer installed this and as he hooked it up, the thing would not power up for at least 10 tries and then it worked. So i thought great it works now, so i drove my car home listening to some awesome bass and all of a sudden i started hearing noise and lost my bass. Brought it back to the installer and he told me the unit was bad. So now i'm returning it back to Mobile Soundworks. One suspicious thing to note is that the box that came with this Cleansweep had a shipping label pasted over where the serial number of the unit; it was deliberately covering it over, this tells me this must've been a refurbished unit. I'm not buying from Mobile Soundworks anymore.

Modern automobiles integrate the radio into so much of the vehicles functionality, you really can't cheaply or easily substitute the stock head for an aftermarket unit. Unfortunately unless you bought the top option for the sound system ( a $2000 or more option, it's $5000 option for an F-150) you have a mid-fi stereo, Ford uses Clarion for the basic unit, Sony for the high-end. The problem is the basic units have built-in equalization to match the crappy speakers they put in the doors. Until now there were very few options. The JL Audio CL441DSP CleanSweep OEM Audio Interface is a game changer. Without going into technical detail, this compensates for all the warts of stock stereos by employing a calibration CD and some real state-of-the-art software algorithms. I've been in the computer DSP field for 35 years so take my word for it: this is some really impressive technology for the consumer at an extremely affordable price. A fair bit of warning, the installation of this product is not for a amateurs, but you also don't need to be a rocket scientist either, you just need suitable experience in doing installations and give yourself a full day to do it. I highly recommend mating this unit with a JL Audio amplifier, I used the XD700/5 and am very happy with the result. One hint: feed the remote turn-on (blue wire) to the DSP's red wire power feed (very low consumption ~12 watts) run the DSP's blue wire which is a remote out to the next stage amplifier. For some reason hooking all the remote on's together won't allow the amp to shut off when you shut the system off, the DSP even labels that blue wire, "Remote Out".The tech support is outstanding, the manual is clear and concise and was written by some who's first language was English (for a change). Second hint: get your vehicle's service manual, most especially the wiring diagrams. Plan on a full day's work.

This unit really works with factory stereo player. It's amazing. Read the review from others and willing to try it. The sound quality is clear but if you set the gain too high on it, you will hear static noise. If it wasn't for that I would rate it 5 stars. Overall I am satisfied. Just make sure you have professional installing it, someone who knows what they doing.
