I wanted to love this. It seems well thought-out and of quality materials. However, it has major design flaws. First, it's very unstable. You get a ton of "chatter" like you would with a router. No matter how careful you are to go smooth and level, the cutters bounce all over the place. Next, because of the uncontrollable chatter, the parts constantly rattle loose. You'll want to check all of the screws about half way through each hole. Finally, and the most puzzling, is the fact that the probing bit and cutters sit about four inches above the dish. This means you'll be spewing dust all of the room and your face. The dish is effective for catching the inner circle once the hole is cut, but that's it. You'd think the vacuum hole would help, but good luck keeping a vacuum hose in place. I tried everything from a standard drill/driver to a hammer drill. They were all equally ineffective. In all, I am very disappointed in the purchase at this price-point. If you're looking for a clean cut and a clean face, you should stay far away from this product.

First and foremost, all measurements on the advertising are in SAE/Imperial first, and metric second. Unit is sold in North America were no one uses metric for anything. Unit has absolutely NO SAE/Imperial markings, trying to cut properly sized holes is at best a trial and error that has to be done on spare boards to verify cuts.... This alone would have been enough to return the unit and leave a 1 star feedback. The blades bent on the first single cut into a 5/8ths sheet of drywall, they are designed badly and shaped wrong. Once the initial blades were changed I was able to cut a 2nd hole before it fell apart.ALL THE SCREWS came loose after 2 cuts. While all tools of this type use set screws, these seem to be comically unable to stay tight. I had to loc-tite all of them, which defeats the purpose of an "adjustable tool". Otherwise unit has to be taken apart and all screws tightened every hole or two.Positive: The hard-shell dust trap is very good, once the initial bit sinks the cup will seal to the surface well and hold while you operate the drill. Dust removal is good, but the airflow could be better if it swirled to remove more dust that tends to cake. Overall dust mitigation is very good. This feature is the only reason this isn't a fully negative review.

This tool is awesome. The first project I used it for was cutting through 3/4 in wood and it did a great job. So happy I spent the few extra dollars on the dust collection port. One of the cutters was installed backwards and I was unsure of how it was supposed to line up. I called the manufacturer and a real human answered and was very helpful in helping me understand how the cutters are designed to work. Just as a heads up there is a left and a right cutter and they look slightly different- they are designed that way, just make sure they are installed in the correct direction. Super happy with the quality and the fact that the manufacturer was ready to help. Looking forward to trying the dust collection feature on drywall, should cut down on the dust considerably.

I think I know why some of you had a miserable time using this tool. Mine came with one of the cutters facing the wrong way!The instructions don't make this clear, but as an experienced machinist I understand carbide cutting tools. The flat carbide surface must face the direction of the cut. If you lay the cutter arbor assembly in front of you on a surface, with the the drill tip pointing away from you, one of the carbide tools will be on the left, the other on the right. For clockwise drill rotation, the cutter on the left should have the flat carbide surface facing up. The left one should be facing down. That way as the assembly rotates, both cutters are engaging the material in face-first orientation. (See my first photo and visualize it rotating clockwise with the drill.)Mine came with both cutters facing up. One cutter would have just dragged through. I guess the Chinese assemblers weren't trained. Also, for optimal cutting, the sharp corner of the cutting tool should be outermost, as in my second photo. But two of mine came with the opposite orientation, as shown in my third photo. Perhaps their intent was to use one of each. That way you would be cutting the inside and outside kerf in unison. Worth a try. The most important thing is to point them in the correct direction, as in my first photo.Otherwise this is an elegant solution to minimizing dusty hole cutting in sheet rock. Nice case. Fits my shop vacuum perfectly.CHECK YOUR DIAMETER SETTING AND TIGHTEN EVERYTHING WELL. Practice on some scrap material if you can, and check the screw tightness every hole.
