I successfully replaced the original battery in my Surface Laptop 2 with this part. With the new battery installed, the laptop is fully functional. It charges and discharges normally. This battery gives every appearance and impression of a genuine OE part. It gives the appearance of high quality. The fit is perfect. This is a great product at a great price. If you need one, this is a solid choice. The Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 is the most difficult piece of consumer electronics that I've ever worked on. Microsoft designed this thing to essentially be disposable. No part of it is upgradable after the fact and they seem to have made design decisions focused intentionally on making it as difficult as possible to service. The process to disassemble it to get to the battery in order to replace it is time consuming, tedious and prone to damage the device. It's essentially a complete teardown. Let me be clear, though - it is possible to perform the entire process without damaging the laptop at all. It's just not easy. The Alcantara keyboard/touch pad is glued into place around the edges. Some well-placed heat will allow you to cut through the adhesive strips holding it on. Once inside the laptop, there are 4-5 thin metal shields that need to come off in order to take everything that you need to apart. Those metal shields are clipped on around their edges with many tiny little clips. You have to bend each one slightly to eventually get the shields off. I used tweezers for this. When reassembling the laptop, you need to spend time bending each shield and all the little clips back into their proper shape to successfully reinstall them. The screen and the heatsink/fan/heat pipe unit needs to come off of the motherboard in order to access all the screws you need to take out to get the motherboard out. Only then can you access the battery to remove it. The old battery is glued into place with some strong adhesive. You need to carefully apply heat on the back of the laptop and separate each of the four cells. I used a thin plastic card and picks to do this. To apply heat I used an ifixit "iOpener".When reassembling, you need to be careful when tightening the screws, especially the tiny ones. Don't apply too much torque. Ideally, you should also clean off the old thermal paste and reapply new paste, especially the paste between the processor and the heat pipe. I used some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut for this. Finally you'll need to clean off all the old adhesive strips around the edges, and reapply some new ones. This is the usual final step for this kind of device. I found a mixed pack of generic adhesive strips (not specifically for this laptop) on Amazon. I couldn't find a "kit" of adhesive strips for this particular laptop anywhere online. I was able to get the laptop all sealed up again after some careful measuring and cutting of the adhesive.Good luck!

Although sold as replacement brand, the unit has identical product labelling to the original. The replacement process is not for the faint hearted, but with some guidance from YOUTUBE tutorials the battery is now installed and working brilliantly.
