Katadyn Keramik Ersatzelement für Combi Filter
Keramikfilter verfügen über eine mikroporöse Schicht mit eingelagertem Silber, wodurch Bakterienwachstum verzögert wird. Die Porengröße aller Katadyn Keramikfilter beträgt 0,2 Mikron (0,0002 mm). Bakterien haben eine Größe von 0,2 bis 5 Mikron und lassen sich daher ebenso wie Protozoen (1 bis 15 Mikron) effizient herausfiltern. Keramikfilterelemente können gereinigt werden. Ihre Filterkapazität ist messbar.

It's a spare filter, I have not it used it yet. Still using my first one. I will say this seller has one of the best prices on these filters. Selling at almost $40 less than many others. I do like the katadyn combi. It's easy to use and maintain. I am not one those people that swears allegiance to one type or brand of filter. In fact no matter what your purpose whether it's hiking or preparedness you should have a backup. I have seen so many people complain that their one filter failed on a trip and ruined their plans.... Shame on them for not having a backup method to get clean water. BTW if all else fails boiling water works! If you don't want to boil water,use a filter or treatment tablets. If you want to remove bacteria and cysts use this filter. If you want to kill viruses use chlorine in tab or liquid form. Or UV. The MIOX pen was a handy chlorine generator for water treatment. BTW the MSR MIOX pen is not made anymore but PA PURE is making a new model using the similar technology, sold on amazon by portable aqua. MSR did not stop using that technology they upscaled it for disaster relief, check out the ME200 for large groups or overseas assistance. Read, learn, practice! Don't wait to use your equipment for the first time on a trip or in an emergency. Good luck and blessings to you all :)

In my survive / backpacking equipment, I’ve packed an extra filter. Haven’t used it yet, but my guess is it is fine. I’ll let you know after the start of the next Zombie Apocalypse or WW Z has begun.

I bought this for a spare, these filters work really good. Granted they are pricey, but I'd rather pay the money than ruin a trip with the runs or worst. Great product.
