If you're gilding but not into using gilding wax, the only reliable way I've found to seal these well enough for foiling has been to dip them in resin. The wood soaks up regular varnish coats like a sponge. I gave up at four coats last time (and still needed to use the resin). Brushing a thin layer of UV or epoxy resin gets the pieces prepped for foil in about a day for epoxy, or under an hour for UV. Once the foil is on though, they look INCREDIBLE. They turn plain or old furniture into an aged treasure piece. For a small price and a little work you're definitely adding value to that old wardrobe or drawers. The seller images do make the ovals in the larger pieces look flat, but they're actually domed. Not as pretty as a flat inlay, but you can definitely do something with them. I was going to use decoupage but have had to swap out my plan for using dried flowers under a coat of clear resin, and honestly, it's actually looking way better than my initial idea. These appliques make such a big change to furniture without spending a ton of effort, definitely recommended!

Ho utilizzato queste decorazioni per rifare uno specchio, hanno reso il tutto veramente bello e invece di spendere un sacco di soldi per uno specchio nuovo, hanno abbellito magnificamente.

What you see is absolutely what you're getting with these, as they're really intricate and detailed and they look 100% exactly like the seller images. I love them! They're lightweight so you can just use a decent glue to attach them to whatever surface. They're a very neutral colour and there's a little grain patterning in them, but they'll also look great done up with paints or gilding. We have an old wooden wardrobe that could use a bit of glam, so I'm currently in the process of putting gold leaf on these to attach to the doors. It's inexpensive fake-gold leaf, but they're looking FANTASTIC so far, so you can definitely do luxurious craft projects on a budget with them. At £15 for eight pieces they're great value. They look amazing and will definitely add more than that to the value of your furniture.

Only marked down a starvas one corner arrived broken. No option to contact seller so unfortunately have to mark down for customer service as there isn’t one.Otherwise good for the purpose I bought them for.
