Colanders tend to be a pain. They are big and all you do is drain something in them and then there is all those holes to clean that might hold on to little pieces of pasta or something…These are great, however, because they are big enough to drain things in, and small enough to eat things out of, too! Like berries, or cut-up veggies. Not to mention the colors are pretty. Pasta: I can cook a serving of pasta and drain it in this medium-sized colander instead of a big, clumsy colander. A friend of mine has a tiny colander-bowl, four inches in diameter, like a little dessert bowl, way too small to be useful.They are very light and cheap-feeling, that would be my only gripe. Due to that, almost $16 for a set of four seems a little high, but they are so pretty and right-sized and convenient that I can get past that. I will probably buy sets of them as gifts, where a set of eight seems ideal. Is there going to be leeching from the plastic into food? It isn’t addressed in the product description. Since the contact between food and the plastic colander is typically going to be brief, a transfer of particles wouldn’t happen that quickly, Dips aren’t going to sit inside of them, so from that standpoint, the only standpoint of concern that I can see, they seem safe.

These are wonderful for daily use. I had two that I have used for years, but now am very happy to have extras.

Love these little colanders! Made of nice sturdy plastic. Perfect size to wash fruits and smaller veggies for my kids to snack on. And the price for all four is great.
