After seeing reviews, where LEDs go on fire, I decided to buy the set and change the default LEDs with mine own LED strip. It was easy to switch to the 80 LED strip on AA batteries for 2 Euros on sale. The original base of the set is wooden, with a plastic box for 3 AAA batteries glued to the bottom of the base. I easily detached the original plastic battery box with original LED wire from the base. For the replacement LEDs, I decided to go with LEDs on AA batteries and a separate battery box, because 1. my plastic battery box won't fit the hole in the base. 2. I wanted to have a turn on/off switch easily reachable. I didn't want the child to pick up, rotate and tip the lamp tube everynight to turn the lights on. 3. Easy to switch the rechargeable batteries to new without rotating and tipping the lamp. I also desided to drill the hole on the side of the base to allow the LED strip wire to the center of the base.So it took about 5 minutes to change original LEDs and battery box to my own, and now I am a bit more confident in fire safety of the toy.Other than LEDs, the kit was of good quality, and we are delighted we got this kit.

Beim Zusammenbau sollte ein Erwachsener dableiben und helfen. Es ist eine filigrane Arbeit, dazu noch mit Sekundenkleber. Für Kinder ist der Zusammenbau eher ungeeignet

It's very difficult to make , it should say 14+. The quality of the decorations is poor, the glue doesn't stick. I don't recommend

Leider nur 3 Sterne dar die stäbe nicht wirklich gepasst hat und alles sehr instabil war man muste echt vorsich sein das nicht alles zusammen Brecht Kleber dauert bis er trocken ist aber trotzdem ist es machtbar es hin zu bekommen

Box had been ripped open and stuck back together. Looks like its second hand and was bought to give as a gift- now have to find something else.
