A clever little tin electric tin opener which takes the hard work out of opening tin cans. Cooking can be a challenge, so anything which lightens the load, especially if you have painful joints, limited dexterity or fatigue is a real help. The tin opener fits easily in the hand, is chunky and quite easy to grip. It took me a while to work out how to 'properly' open the battery compartment - I find it easiest to hold it with the narrow end pointing away from me and to press and slide away, towards the narrow end. It takes 2 AA batteries.I've tried it out on a range of different tin cans, tops & bottoms, round and rectangular and it's handled all of them impressively and with ease. To operate you press the red button - a light also comes on to indicate that it's working and it makes a 'beavering away' motor sound. It nibbles its away around the top of the tin with ease, leaving a neatly turned over edge on the lid and a non-sharp edge on the tin (although I'd still be careful with the tin's edge). You have to press the button again when it has gone all the way around otherwise it just keeps going. Pressing the button releases the lid really easily, and the button itself is large and easy to see against the white background.I'm impressed with it, it looks good, is easy to use and performs really well.

Die Handhabung ist wirklich so einfach wie beschrieben:Besonders gut gefallen haben uns:+ Ein-Knopf-Bedienung – einfach aufsetzen, Knopf drücken, und der Dosenöffner dreht sich automatisch um die Dose+ Kein Kraftaufwand nötig – ideal für Menschen mit Arthrose oder wenig Fingerkraft+ Sauberer Schnitt ohne scharfe Kanten – sehr sicher, auch für Kinder+ Magnet hält den Deckel fest – kein Herumfischen im Essen+ Klein und leicht – passt in jede Schublade und ist super für unterwegsAuch das Design gefällt mir: Mausförmig, modern und in einem schönen Rot. Zwei normale AA-Batterien rein (nicht enthalten) – und los geht’s.Fazit: Ich war erst skeptisch, ob so ein kleines Gerät wirklich funktioniert – aber es hat mich komplett überzeugt. Gerade wenn man öfter Dosen öffnet und sich dabei nicht verletzen will, lohnt sich der Kauf.

I bought this electric tin opener for my mum who has arthritis in both hands. She finds traditional openers painful and often has to ask for help, so I was hoping this would give her a bit more independence in the kitchen. The one-touch feature and promise of hands-free operation were the main selling points.Out of the box, it’s simple to use. You pop it on top of the tin, press the button, and it does the rest. It’s surprisingly quiet and stops automatically once the lid is cut through. For standard-sized tins, it works really well. It leaves a smooth edge which is much safer than jagged ones from manual openers, and it doesn’t need any pressure or grip strength, which makes it perfect for people with reduced mobility.However, it’s not without its faults. It doesn’t work quite as well on tins with dents or unusually shaped rims. We tried it on a square tin and it struggled to stay aligned. Also, it takes a bit of trial and error to get the placement right the first few times. If it’s not positioned properly, it just spins and doesn’t catch the edge. Not a huge deal once you get the hang of it, but it’s something to keep in mind for users who aren’t confident with gadgets.The green colour makes it easy to spot in a drawer, and it’s small enough to store without taking up much space. Battery life seems decent so far, and it hasn’t needed recharging or replacing yet.All in all, it’s made a big difference for my mum’s confidence in the kitchen. It’s not perfect and doesn’t work with every single tin, but for day-to-day use, it’s been a really helpful addition.
