I got this network card to use in an old PC to run PFSense. This network card uses the Intel 82575/82576 chipset, which was released in 2007 (yeah, it's kinda old - but still works great) and is generally known to work really well with Linux, BSD, and similar. I've been using this card for a few days now, and am happy to report that I'm very pleased with this purchase.Here's why I say that:Pros-----* Cheap and easy way to add two 1G network ports to any PC with an available PCI-E slot.* You don't have to install any special drivers for Windows to recognize and use this card. You might have to download and install drivers for it to work in Linux. Search for 'Intel 82575/6 igb' and choose the driver that's right for you from Intel's website.* Card is based off of an older Intel chipset, which means it's reliable and very well-supported.* Small, compact design.* Includes both a standard/full-height and a low profile/half-height bracket.Cons-----* Intel chipset is pretty old, which means it uses a little more power than a more modern card. The difference in power consumption is pretty negligible, though, so I'm not going to remove a star for this.* Network card doesn't come with instructions or a driver CD. It's not hard to install, but people who are less experienced will probably want to read up a bit or watch a couple of how-to videos before installing.

Neanche incluso manuale di istruzioni per montaggio e attivazione. Si presenta molto compatta e robusta già fissata alla staffa per il montaggio sullo chassis del PC. Qualità costruttiva buona con stampato e saldature perfette. A parte è inclusa un'altra staffa a basso profilo, eventualmente da sostituire a quella standard là dove lo chassis del pc è ridotto. La scheda prevede un innesto a mother board su slot PCIe x1/x2/x4/x8/x16 quindi si può scegliere l'attacco disponibile sulla mother board del PC senza problemi.Svolta l'operazione di montaggio e collegamento del cavo ethernet su una delle 2 porte della stessa scheda, viene rilevata automaticamente all'accensione del PC.Sul mio PC con SO windows 10 64Bit avevo già una scheda ethernet Gigabit classica con i suoi 100Mps, ma con questa ho praticamente messo il turbo con una velocità di comunicazione con il mio modem ADSL aumentata, più stabilità e minor lag, nonostante il collegamento con più dispositivi. Good card for providing some redundancy for network connections, or use in firewall applications.Uses good quality chips from Intel which worked flawlessly for me. Plenty of advanced networking features are available.Comes with both a full-height and a half-height PCIe bracket to suit different cases / chassis.
