These displays are pretty useless without Arduino software that will actually compile.Relying on Arduino IDE is mostly what affects this display the most. Make software that does not rely on the Arduino IDE at all will make these displays truly useful.

So much fun I stayed up till 3am after it arrived trying different screens. The screen in the example comes from available tutorials on YouTube. I actually took two examples and merged them together cause I liked the geolocation layout but wanted a weather station. As you see it's displaying we got a couple inches of snow in Lafollette!Things you need to know...1. The more you want to do with development boards, the more you will spend time learning. Definitely expect to spend some time like I did up till 3am from how exciting it is to customize. Search YouTube for examples for the amoled esp32s3, there are pleasing results to follow. This does involve using a PC to push code to the device. Use the code as is (easy) or learn to mod and build it (involved), good stuff!2. Be aware of different models! Some have amoled screens, some lcd, some have touch screens some do not. Double check!3. If your device has a defect just ask to replace it with another! Understand these things happen while others have zero issues for years on the same board! Sure it's disappointing but I've had good experience with quick Amazon replacements. What's that usually a week and you're back on track? Definitely worth the wait.4. I can't stop staring at the Amoled screen. It's flawless.

I bought the product to build an automotive display for a race car which displays ECU settings and CAN-bus data. The super fine resolution the high contrast and brilliant colors make this a very good choice. For supidity reasons I had to contact the support and I was impressed about the quick reaction time and their patience. I'm looking forward to the upcoming products from LILYGO.

First things first - it may look like the screen has a ring of dead / red pixels. My heart sank when I thought mine did but those "pixels" were just printed on the thin plastic film that protects the screen during manufacturing and shipping. Peel that off before using this device. The display really is quite stunning. Deep blacks and crisp vibrant colors. You will need to change some settings in your Arduino IDE to use this device and especially to upload some of the more memory-intensive examples. These settings can be found on the LilyGO Github page that is referenced in the product description above. There are also PlatformIO instructions and files there. If your ESP32 project needs a display with some extra visual "punch", this is the board for you.

seemed to operate nicely out of the box at first. I hooked it up to my laptop and everything seemed great so I downloaded the example files from the products github then looked back at the board and the display was blank. I restarted the device and ever since it is stuck in a constant loop. appears to have a hardware malfunction of some sort. very disappointing especially since i've had great success with their products in the past but some of these newer ones (like the t camera - also barely functional but at least it kind of works i guess) REALLY hoping their new T Deck is a return to form in terms of build quality.
