Needed this for my JD 5100E tractor fuel filter. Not sure it was the right size based on description and reviews but took a chance. It is the same as the JD wrench TY27858, so it did fit. The Green Parts Store list the filters that this will remove. As it worked out the filter was over tightened at the factory. I had to remove whole assembly (2 bolt and 2 hoses) put it upside down in a vice and use a 3 foot pipe wrench to remove it. Took a couple hours because I kept trying different things. In any event it was not the fault of the wrench. Looks well made as I would expect from Lisle.

Does not work on John Deere diesel fuel filters, spreads and slips too easily

I don’t know where these people are coming up with this thing is thin and will bend. If you bend it (which idk how you could) than you are way over torquing and I mean like 2ft breaker baring it. It would break the plastic on the filter before bending this tool

Im usually happy with my lisle products and the tool seems well made. But, I wish they would specify the engines it worked with. Took a chance and it just doesn’t work with any 3.9 or 4.5 liter Deere I have around. I imagine it won’t work with the 6.8 either as it’s too small.

Can you remove the filter without this tool...absolutely but, I promise you it will look like a empty Natty Light beer can after a college frat party. Installation is a completely different story, without the tool the only thing you have to grab onto is the top plastic lip that is actually made for the tool. If you work on newer John Deere engines please get this tool to save you from cursing an engineer.
