Reviewed May 2023:I bought these as they were on special, and I had thrown away a previous (cheap) pair because they kept on twisting. I prefer to buy hand tools from a few particular brands as they are usually good quality, especially if I know they will be well used, and Bahco are one of those brands.In the case of slip joint pliers, I usually use them in pairs for tightening up compression joints, and its a case of making sure everything is well tightened to seal up the brass/copper olive onto the pipe, so I want pliers that are stable and have a reliable grip while tightening.Usually they have the ability to resize the jaws, but it a simple mechanism. A pretty reliable test of quality is how well this adjustment works. These Bahco ones have a locking mechanism, it really works and its reliable.Its not just compression fittings, I just completed a bathroom refit, and had a devil of a job getting the basin waste plug to seal without leaking. It was already (well) fixed to the wall, and I really did not want to take it off to get into the waste fixing. These pliers enabled me to just get into the back of the pedestal which was a really tight space, undo the fittings and swap over the seals. (BTW, the Thomas Dudley seal kit is brilliant).This kit also includes a smaller 250mm adjustable spanner/wrench. I've used it for a few other things, and its a decent quality wrench. Not sure I'd pay the retail price for it as a single, stand alone item, but its Bahco quality, it has a decent tightening mechanism and they are well machined which helps a lot in avoiding to round off hex heads.Arguably, this is a plumbing kit, and it would have been better to include a thinner, plumbers adjustable.
