I already own multiple cooling vests due to a severe sensitivity to heat so I am comparing this vest to them. I followed the sizing chart and ordered a small. I typically wear a ladies size m/l. Although it fits, the design is baggy which is not conducive to good cooling. All of my other vests fit much more snug so the cooling packs are closer to my body. The fabric is nylon which does not have a lot of body. My other vests are more of a canvas so it supports the weight of the ice pack much better. They included 4 complete sets of ice bags which is nice. You can have backup ice packs available for a very hot day. I always place my extra ice packs in a lidded plastic bin in my freezer so they don’t get jostled around and rip. The bubble wrap bags are weird. It would have been much more effective to just make the ice packs out of thicker material. After filling with water, the actual ice pack says to place into a refrigerator although the enclosed sheet of instructions say to place them in the freezer. Now the trick is to put the ice packs into the freezer while keeping them perfectly flat. About filling the bags, they can be filled to 250 ml or 400 ml although there is no explanation regarding why you would select one over the other. My recommendation is to start with 250 ml and see how it works. You can add more water but can’t add less. There is no information regarding if you can add 250 ml, allow it to gel and then add more water. Will that additional water also gel or just float around as water?? Overall, as far as cooling vests go, this one is extremely inexpensive but also comes with some faults. If you need a serious cooling impact, this is not your vest.

This cooling vest is a great idea. It has six inner pockets to hold ice pouches: four in the back and one on each side in front. The vest is nylon and can double as a windbreaker if you opt to skip the ice packs. This set includes 24 ice bags and six bubble bags (which hold the ice packs in the pockets). The instructions on the ice packs are a bit confusing, but those included in the box are straightforward. I have not used it yet, but this vest would be a great gift to stay cool during the warm months.

This vest work for it’s intended use but it is not the best quality . It comes with a lot of those small ice bags that you fill up with water and freeze . You proceed to put them in the pockets all over the vest.

I have been surveying and working outside this summer and we've had nonstop record high temperatures. So many people who work outdoors like delivery drivers, construction workers, landscaping, mail workers, etc. really have it rough on hot summer days!I have been trying different things to keep cool throughout the day and a coworker recommended an ice vest. I thought it might be a great idea but I wanted to be able to use it for going to baseball games, gardening, etc. and all of the vests I saw were very conspicuous and ugly. Many did not seem to be made of great material, either that would last at all.So when I saw this vest I was really happy I found it because it looks like it is regular clothing. It just looks like a regular vest. It is sort of incognito. I like not having a ton of questions and everyone looking at me like "What are you wearing?". It is just a nice layering piece with the added benefit of staying cool. Plus, it has sizes to choose from (instead of a "one size fits all" situation, which never works).It also is made very well. The fabric and zipper and construction are all great quality. It really seems much closer to a piece of clothing with longevity in mind. This vest is beyond compare and way better than any other ice vest I've ever seen.This vest comes with the ice packs included. They advertise 24 packs included but I actually received way more ice packs than advertised, which is nice because I will have extra ice packs to use with this vest. I could even bring extra ice packs with me in an insulated lunch bag or stash them in the work freezer. That way I will double my cool time.You do have to fill and freeze the ice packs yourself. Each pack has a small opening in the top that allows you to add water. BE CAREFUL NOT TO ADD ANY WATER ABOVE THE FILL LINE because if you do it will be very messy and you will not be able to close it or when you try to freeze it the water will have nowhere to expand as it turns to ice and it will make a mess in your freezer. Each ice pack has some stuff in it that turns the water into a gel consistency.Try to make sure that the ice packs stay FLAT while freezing. This will make them much easier to put into the pockets on your vest.I'm 5'4" 170 lbs and this vest fits me great. My measurements are 16.9 shoulder to shoulder, 38D bust and 35" waist. I like that the vest when fully loaded with ice packs is not bulky or heavy or awkward to move in. It works for a more petite person. My coworker's vest only has one size and is built more for larger men so I'm glad I found this one!The pockets on this vest are very generous and give a lot fo surface area for the ice packs to cool. I have used it many times since receiving it and I can count on at least 3 to 4 hours of cooling, depending not he temperature that day. With the extra packs this keeps me much more comfortable during a shift. I make sure to stay hydrated and use it as another tool in my arsenal to beat the heat.
