After having my mail stolen multiple times, AND having my mailbox bashed several times, we ordered this. Locks great to protect our mail, and also is super tough. Large-sized, so small packages are easily handled.I recommend a small flashlight on your key-ring, because it is a little difficult to find the keyhole on a dark night!But this product is great!

My wife and I wanted a mailbox that would make it easier to give people directions to our home. No one else has a blue mailbox on our road, so this was a great option. It looks very nice in the rural landscape without standing out in a blaring way, like a white box or a novelty box.It was easy to install but man is it heavy! I started out with the mailbox on a single 4x4" post. It felt sturdy enough, but it looked spindly - like a Popsicle on a toothpick. The proportions were off.I ended up adding a second 4x4" post. I bracketed them together to look like a 4x8 post and it looks intentional, sturdy and proportionately attractive.This box is definitely heavy duty. I don't think kids will be batting at this one. The metal finish looks great and the lock works smoothly. The blue is like a deep sky blue - a little teal, a bit blue. It's a good looking color.

This mailbox is USPO approved, easy to install (excellent instructions, templates and supplied hardware) and easy to use. Amazon has started placing packages through the slot now. I suppose that's 'legal' as the mail carrier can't see what's inside once they deposit your mail.Something to consider if you're worried about squatters in your area: They address something to themselves at your address, and then retrieve it from your unsecured mailbox showing they are a 'resident' since they get mail at that address...you'll never know it's happening if they are in your mail box without your knowledge. This secures all your incoming mail, and only someone with the key can retrieve it.Features--Handles about 30-40 envelopes over time without needing to hold mail.-Can handle "Express Scripts" pill bottle packages-Handles things like small Bank Check Order boxes, 8x10 bubble packs, Express Mail envelope packs, Newspapers.We were impressed with the volume of items that can pass through the slot and be held in the locked chamber...about 6 days of mail without having to empty it during a trip.The keys are laser groove cut (like European car keys), and a bit exprensive to order extras (About $12 each from the company).The finish is hammered and durable. The Flag is plastic, a bit on the flimsy side, but is completely functional, and resists breaking when bent.The slot door has a clip to hold Letter sized envelopes for the Mail Carrier to retrieve as outgoing mail.The lock is very secure, and is tamper resistant.Mail stays dry.The installation is straight forward, with included hardware (lags and washers and a drill bit) onto a 2x6 base mounted on a 4x4 or 4x6 post (recommended). You'll need a drill, a socket set and a pencil.Included is a slippery corrugated plastic interior floor cover, which covers the lag bolts and makes sliding mail out easy.After about 4 months of use, no issues, no complaints or problems. Key orders took about a week.

This mail boss(mail box) looks really nice in my front yard. I had it installed right next to my front porch. It was installed by a local handy man and his helper. It only took them about two hours to completely install it. It took about a week for the concrete to completely set. It is a sturdy well made mail box and the locking feature is really nice. Now I don't have to worry about my mail being taken out of my box while I'm away from home. I would strongly recommend this item if you're looking for a locking mail box. You don't have to live in the country to use it. It works just as well when put next to a front porch. It is a little expensive, but is well worth it.I also got the matching metal post to go with it. It slips right over a 4 x 4 wood post so it looks complete. I plan to put potted plants at the base to dress it up a bit. I'm very pleased with my new mail boss. It is just what I wanted.
