Installs easily with the provided screwdriver. Hard rubber feet can be positioned anywhere along the threaded stainless steel (non-magnetic) spike. The last few threads of the spike are dented to prevent the feet from falling off. Does raise the height of the tripod a few inches, but it's an excellent upgrade to my tripod. Don't put this down on floors without putting down the rubber feet. It is machined to a sharp point and will likely cause damage.

I invested in a Manfroto model 290A tripod several years ago. That model came with rubber caps on the legs. Several times over the years I wished that I had metal spikes on the end of the legs to steady the tripod better. I was looking at buying a newer tripod but I really had grown comfortable with my old unit. I ended up searching the net to find something to add spikes to my existing unit, when I found these on Amazon. Being made by Manfroto meant I was sure they would fit (once I looked up the right set for my tripod on the Manfroto site). These feet came with retractable spikes and a rubber footing combo. So they can be used in any setting. Amazon was cheaper and quicker than getting them from the factory. These feet went on easily and can be removed if you ever need to put the old ones back on.

Easy to install. Adds stability to my tripod on uneven terrain. Excellent product, works great and is very well made.
