The Maxcom MM39D-SE offers a compelling solution for those seeking a traditional desk phone experience without the need for a landline. This cordless phone utilizes a SIM card to connect to cellular networks, making it a versatile option for homes, offices, or even mobile workshops where a fixed line isn't available.**What I Liked:*** **Landline Alternative:** The biggest draw is the ability to use a SIM card instead of a traditional landline. This is incredibly convenient for areas where landline infrastructure is poor or simply unnecessary.* **Familiar Design:** The MM39D-SE delivers a classic desk phone aesthetic, making it easy to use for anyone accustomed to traditional handsets and keypads. The large buttons and clear display are especially beneficial for users who might find smartphones too fiddly.* **Cordless Convenience:** The cordless design offers freedom of movement during calls, a major advantage over corded phones. You can answer calls and walk around your desk or office without being tethered.* **USB-C Charging:** The inclusion of a USB-C charging port is a welcome modern touch. It’s a widely used standard, making it easy to find replacement chargers if needed. The desktop charger provides a convenient spot to keep the phone charged and ready for use.* **Ease of Setup:** Setting up the MM39D-SE is a breeze. Simply insert your SIM card, plug in the charger, and you're ready to go. The intuitive menu makes navigating settings and features straightforward.* **Decent Battery Life:** In my usage, the battery life has been adequate for typical office use. Battery life depends on usage, of course, but it easily lasts a full workday with moderate call volume.* **UK Plug:** The correct UK plug is reassuring that this product is made for the UK market.**What Could Be Improved:*** **Call Quality:** While generally acceptable, call quality isn't quite on par with a high-end smartphone or a traditional landline. It's clear and understandable, but there can be occasional moments of static or distortion, especially in areas with weaker cellular signal.* **Features:** The feature set is fairly basic. While it covers essential functions like call logs, contacts, and SMS messaging, it lacks advanced features found on smartphones, such as Wi-Fi calling or advanced call management options.* **Build Quality:** The plastic construction feels a bit lightweight, and while it doesn't feel flimsy, it lacks the premium feel of more expensive desk phones. It seems adequate for the price point, but not luxurious.* **Display Resolution:** While clear, the display resolution could be higher.**Who is it for?*** **Small Business Owners:** A cost-effective alternative to traditional landlines, especially for businesses operating in areas with poor landline infrastructure.* **Home Office Users:** Provides a dedicated phone for work calls, separating them from personal calls on a smartphone.* **Elderly Users:** The large buttons and familiar design make it easy to use for seniors who may find smartphones challenging.* **Anyone Seeking a Simple Communication Solution:** If you're looking for a straightforward phone for making and receiving calls without the complexities of a smartphone, the MM39D-SE is a good option.**Overall:**The Maxcom MM39D-SE is a solid and practical cordless desk phone that offers a convenient alternative to traditional landlines. While it's not perfect, its ease of use, cordless convenience, and SIM card functionality make it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a simple and affordable communication solution for their home or office. The price is quite competitive, making it a good value for money.**Rating:** 4 out of 5 stars.

I've been using for a few months now. It's simple to set up, even for someone like me who isn't techsavvy. The instructions were clear and concise. The sound quality is decent both for calls and the ringtone. It's loud enough to hear even in a slightly noisy environment. One thing I really appreciate is the SIM card functionality, meaning no landline is needed which is quite handy for my situation. The USB C charging is convenient, although it does take a little longer than I’d like. The battery life is good lasting a couple of days on a single charge with moderate use. The design is basic but functional. It’s sturdy, feels well-built and sits nicely on my desk. The buttons are large and easy to press. It's clearly designed with ease of use in mind. There are no complicated menus or confusing settings.

As a wireless landline, the call is clear and the signal is stable, which is suitable for small offices or home use. The key response is sensitive, but the screen is small and the caller ID font is blurred. The battery life is average, and it needs to be charged every day for frequent use. The whole is moderate.
