This is a really good dirt bike tow hitch and is well worth the money. It's a good yet simple design that is made well enough to withstand the elements. Not sure how it would fare with a much larger motorcycle but it's perfect for my dirt bike and well worth the money.

Maybe, I did something wrong. It holds the motorcycle very well. The problems is, the front and rear tire are stuck. I put arrows to show how the tires drop into the groove to hold it. I couldn’t get it to move off the ramp. I couldn’t push it or use first gear. The rear tire would turn and it wouldn’t go anywhere. The bikes is 345 pounds, trying to lift it up and out is almost impossible. Buyer beware, I will be buying a ramp.

We received this motorcycle rack to try and carry one of our scooters. Once the rack was assembled we tried to run a 150cc scooter up the ramp. The ramps is short so the climb is steep. The ramp is so short that the scooter high centered in the middle, thus making it impossible to load a scooter on the rack. A dirt bike will work on this ramp easily. The next thing we noticed about the rack is that the tie downs are located mid bike and almost too far back from the center pulling the bike backwards. I like to have the bike pulling forward and then a strap on the back to limit the bikes movement. Of course the rack wobbles on the stinger and an additional stabilizer is always recommended when using these kinds of racks.

This motorcycle carrier needs to be assembled. The instructions were fairly easy to follow. Though I wouldn't call it difficult, it took me over an hour to assemble, with some distractions, and including unboxing. As a tip, look at the parts listing and sort/separate all the parts. This will make assembly faster and easier. Note that there are two different lengths of M8 bolts, so make sure to not mix them up. Once assembled, the carrier felt sturdy. I mounted the carrier onto my trailer hitch and it fit with one minor issue. There is a pair of metal pieces that bolt onto the tube near where it's inserted to the receiver. I had to remove these pieces otherwise the tube would not slide in far enough for the holes to line up for the hitch pin. Once everything was set up, I was able to load my Yamaha YZ250 relatively easily. In other words, I found it much easier to load onto this carrier compared with using a ramp to load into the bed of my truck. Keep in mind that the higher your tow hitch, the higher the carrier will be and the harder it will be to load. How stable will the motorcycle be on this carrier? I used regular cargo straps to hold down the motorcycle. I noticed one issue with the anchor points located nearest to the hitch. Those anchors use L brackets make of relatively thin gauge steel. I think that it would have been much better and stronger if these brackets were simply straight instead of being bent into an L. Because of the L shape, I can easily imagine the brackets straightening under higher tensions. I will probably run the cargo straps around the tube and avoid using these brackets altogether. Though I used only two cargo straps for testing, I believe that at least three should be used for a more secure hold. The carrier uses clamps that can be tightened down to secure the front tire. This helps provide more stability to keep the motorcycle upright and on the carrier. I have no worries about my motorcycle being held down securely enough to transport.I have friends who use custom-made carriers, but have spent three times as much. In my opinion, this carrier is of very good quality considering the price. I would get this over my friends' custom carriers any day. I would recommend getting ditching the hitch pin and using a decent quality hitch lock instead. That would aid in deterring anyone from stealing your carrier. One star deducted because the mystery metal pieces that I removed and for the L brackets that need improvement.

The tie down brackets are flimsy 1/8” metal. The first time I used it the tie down brackets bent and I almost lost my dirt bike on the highway. Luckily I scan the rear view often and noticed the bike leaning and the loose tie-downs on the outside. I pulled over and tied it down to my receiver. It was a scary couple miles to the nearest off-ramp to say the least. There are less expensive sturdier options. Also the ramp is short making it a more difficult angle to load. Sorry for the bad photo, but it’s the only one I have of the bike on the carrier, taken from the car behind me noticing the lean.
