Works for my cat

Anyone with a cat knows that getting them to do what you want them to do is a feat in itself. When it comes to ingestible health care items, making the stuff palatable to cats is thus at least half the battle.On this front, this maxxiscoot product is off to a good start at our home. It comes with a small scoop that dispenses what seems to be a reasonable dose for a cat. We are slowly building up to the recommended full scoop across two daily installments to treat Maisie, my 14 pound Turkish Angora cat (pictured here), a rescue who we early learned had a recurring issue with impacted anal glands. Not pleasant for anyone. She will tolerate this sprinkled lightly on her dry food. In theory, it would be easier to mix this into wet food, but she refused that, and she eats more dry than wet food in any case, so we stuck with that method. You do what you can, when you are a cat servant.We have previously tried similar products with varying degrees of success, mostly, again, dependent on whether or not she would eat the stuff. Most of these products provide a source of fiber plus some probiotics and maybe digestive enzymes. One seemed to be effective for Maisie, but when they changed the flavor, she refused the new one, and we eventually just stopped. I did notice that the market price for maxxiscoot was at least comparable, and at times more reasonable, than like products from more well-known pet brands we have purchased in the past.After a particularly difficult episode recently, we talked to Maisie's vet about other options. This product uses psyllium husk powder, which my vet recommended over fruit pectin or other fiber sources. It also includes other ingredients that seem likely to help the situation, such as pumpkin, sweet potato, flaxseed, and FOS (all provide more fiber), bromelain (enzyme), a probiotic, and apple cider vinegar.Maisie would not eat her food with plain psyllium husk powder, so that idea was short lived. This product does not have a discernible smell, also good for cats, and while the flavor does not seem to excite her, at least it does not turn her off. She has always been good at drinking a healthy amount of water, but whenever adding fiber to any creature's diet, increased hydration is important to keep in mind.Time will tell if this is effective. Maisie does seem to be scooting less than prior to starting her on maxxiscoot, which is usually a good early indicator of effectiveness. I will update this review after testing the product over an extended period of time.So far, I would recommend giving this product a try, with the caveat that, well, cats are cats. Yours may or may not eat it, and it may or may not help, even if they do. For us, it is worth a try to reduce her discomfort and the vet tech appointments needed for the highly unpleasant process of expressing impacted anal glands.

I recently ordered the maxxipaws maxxiscoot Anal Gland & Digestive Health Support powder supplement for my brother's elderly cat. His cat has been experiencing occasional scoots, and we decided to give this supplement a try.So far, the cat hasn't noticed the powder mixed in with its food, which is a good sign. Although it's too early to tell if the condition has improved, we are hopeful that this supplement will work effectively.Highly recommended for any cat owner looking for a solution to support their pet's anal gland and digestive health.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this supplement for kitties but I was noticing one of our kitties in particular scooting her bum around and I thought that meant worms, but it wasn’t. This supplement seems to be doing the trick! It’s been about a two weeks since I’ve started giving this to our Lady Luna and I haven’t seen her scoot once! 🙌 The ingredients list looked nice and clean/healthy to me, though I’m not a doctor, and it would be best to discuss with your own veterinarian. What I’m most impressed with is the taste. It appears to not be artificially flavored beef or salmon like some things are, and are so hit or miss with my kitty crew, and although I haven’t tasted it myself, all 5 of my cats ate this without hesitation, and for cats, that’s quite impressive! I would highly recommend this!

Neither of my cats have any signs of anal gland problems but they have had this brands supplements before and seemed happy with it.I put two bowls of biscuits out for them normally and put whichever supplement I am treating them to that day on one bowl and the other bowl just their plain biscuits. Sometimes they prefer the bowl with the supplement in if it’s a nice flavour, sometimes they prefer the plain one and sometimes 50/50.With this supplement they seemed to prefer the plain bowl a bit more but were still grazing on this a bit. It does say no added flavourings only natural supplement in this so it’s perhaps a good thing and they did still eat both bowls of biscuits but the bowl without this supplement was a bit of a clearer favourite. I am pleased with it though as it will help stop anal gland issues and I wasn’t certain they don’t have any problems as I had seen them occasionally showing signs that might’ve been anal gland problems. So I will keep using it occasionally.I think the price is good as it will last a long time as the one scoop is less than a teaspoon I think so even if I used it everyday it would last longer than a month I expect.
