I hadn't seen natural beeswax crayons around before (although it looks like there's several brands on Amazon so it's probably just I've been living under a rock). They do smell like beeswax to me, a pleasant, vaguely honeyed scent that is not at all the artificial smell of standard crayons. I would love to know what's in them other than beeswax, as I'm quite curious - sadly no information on the box.The colours are a bit of a letdown however. Most are great (pink, red, orange, yellow, green, dark green, black); but the brown is so pale it barely tints the paper, the light blue is more of a pale powder blue, and the dark blue is very dull and light; and the purple is not a purple at all, it's a very vivid fuchsia - which is fine, except on the box it's marked as purple!I dithered a lot whether to make this review 3-star or 4-star. Call it 3 and a half.At £14.99 that makes them £1.25 per crayon, which is very pricy. I appreciate that they're made from beeswax and the price is in line with that, and if you're after specifically beeswax crayons they're good value for money compared to other brands.

I ordered the Medenka Beeswax Crayons for my 5 year old son.He has a variety of crayons but nothing of this level of quality. The product arrived well packaged and in immaculate condition. The Medenka crayons come in beautiful packaging with these chunky and colourful crayons displayed carefully with an individual space between each. They are made from 100% pure European Beeswax and manufactured well with intricate detailing.Being made from Beeswax, they have a fairly strong yet appealing aroma. It's reassuring to know they are completely safe even when accidentally consumed. The colours are vibrant, but perhaps not all are as vivid as other types of crayon. He's used them many times already and has taken the box on day trips and to local restaurants. They are easy to grip for little hands and thick to colour a good amount of space quite quickly. The classic crayons are available in 12 strong and muted colours.Overall, a lovely set and competitively priced compared with similar products on the market.

The crayons are beautifully presented in a carboard box with a separate slot for each crayon. The crayons are a good size, and don't seem to break easily. Ours have been dropped to the floor from the dining table a fair few times now and we've not had any breakages. They draw and colour very smoothly, without leaving chunks of wax on the paper, or loose bits. The colours also seems to blend together very nicely and my toddler doesn't need to press very hard to get them to draw. The only small criticism I have is the actual colours. On the box there is a printed scribbled next to each crayon showing the colour. Some of them are not very vibrant, such as the brown, which is quite pale and washed out, and the dark blue. The light blue is more of a pale, light grey, and the purple isn't purple at all, it is closer to a pinky/magenta colour.

These are lovely crayons, the colours are great and they feel nice to write with. You don't often see light blue or white, but it's something different and they look good on darker paper. They are thicker than standard crayons and don't snap as easily, there is some embossed writing on each crayon, giving them a nice finish. They are just the right size for young children's hands to hold with ease. I would say from around 28months+ could use these, any younger they may eat them, however they are all made from natural bees wax so it's not toxic to children. It says a pleasant smell but it just smells like a cardboard box to me.Although the quality is good I would say they are expensive, when children tend to scribble carelessly and move on.Overall the quality is good, but I feel they are over priced.
