These kits have several very attractive traits if you're looking for a gift for kiddos on the younger side (though I think they'd be fun for just about anyone who likes sticker books, crafts, etc.):1. Relatively stress-free activity that doesn't require advanced skills; helps kids work on fine motor skills.2. No mess. Your relatives will be relieved to see that your gift will not make a mess and doesn't require any special tools.3. The designs are really fun. My little cousins adore these!4. They're hangable after completion, so the child in question can display them out of the way in a bedroom window. When they see their pretty craft each day, they'll (maybe) think of their awesome auntie, cousin, etc. who is the best gift-giver. Success.

Gave it as a gift for a 9 year old girl and she had lots of fun putting all the stickers on it and will hang it in her outside play house.

Mistakes can be corrected by reapplying the gel in the proper position. It’s an engrossing plug-and-play craft that yields a surprisingly beautiful piece of art that looks like stained glass.My kids made several of the smaller kits when they were in the single digit age range. Now that they are double digits, they enjoy working the on rainy or wintry days. One-off projects like these are perfect “staycation” type crafts. Depending on the maturity level, your artist can do this 140-piece mermaid in one sitting, or stretch it out over a period of hours and days. Cleanup is as easy as rewrapping the gels until further use.The completed project can be a window or wall hanging to be enjoyed for many years. The gels they made more than three years ago still adorn our kitchen bay window and back door glass. Over time, the gels harden but still retain their vibrant color.
