I use this product in casting lead bullets. (The temp has to be withing a narrow range, or the castings will not turn out well.)This does the job, even with the tip of the probe in the liquid metal. Makes my hobby much more enjoyable.

For the price, it does the job. Very basic features: only Celcius, on/off button, battery status. There's one more indicator on the screen but I don't know what it means and the instructions are in Chinese. I measured the temperature of rolling boil water and my alcohol thermometer (used in research labs) showed 100 C exactly. My cooking digital thermometer showed 98-99 C and this unit showed 97-98 C. You have to remember to add a few degrees to the measurement and not to consider it accurate, but a reasonable ballpark instead. If I wanted great accuracy I'd expect to pay a lot more but this will do the job for me. We will see if it holds up over time.

Been using this everyday to check the temperature of my solar water heater. It's been a welcoming addition.
