So far it seems sturdy but the kittens are at 4-5 weeks so even their little claws aren't damaging the mesh - YET. A good fit for kittens with a small litter box in there. I am using a plastic storage box minus the lid as that is smaller than the average litter box tray. They don't need toys when they are wrestling with each other. For their feeding and play area I move them into the bathtub so they have more room. I had one construction issue, and that is using the two circular sections meant for top and bottom structure I could not - did not have the strength? - to upright one of the short poles, meaning the bottom is a tight fit but the top is looser structure. It was either the pole or sacrificing the lid and I wanted the lid in place.

Once assembled, the Cage performed as advertised.Apart from recommending a different construction for which this review is not intended, the manufacture should be ashamed for implying assembly is as easy as they show.It is not.A trick that I should have used to allow the vinyl to be more easily stretched over the frame, but did not, was to assure that the vinyl cover had sat in a warm to even hot room for a day, but not in direct sunlight. An alternative would have been to use a hair dryer set on LOWEST/WARM and warn air CAREFULLY applied to the vinyl cover. In other words, don't even try to assemble this Cage in a cold room. It won't happen!As it was, I damaged the sewn seam at the end of the zipper where the encircling top cover was joined by sewing.Why?Because the stitches were NOT double stitched to reinforce the VERY weak part of the encircling cover. A warmed-up cover might have prevented that stitching tear. That tear also meant the zipper-runner ran off the interlocking teeth. Gorilla Tape fixed that so the zipped parts would not separate with use of the Cage.This is what happens when a good idea is marketed as easy to assemble when it is NOT, and to be too candid about assembly would mean that a buyer might turn to another similar cage.Caveat emptor! But, our cat likes it.

My wife and I bought the Cat Playpen mainly for cat transport during road trips anywhere from 1-5 driving hours away from home. We wanted something a bit larger than a conventional cat carrier, to fit either our two cats who get along together or the single, larger cat (with anxiety issues) plus a litter box. The Playpen is an appropriate size for both scenarios - and our cats seem (relatively) grateful en route; they "Meow" and howl a lot less in the car now, and there are significantly fewer "accidents" than before when we used regular carriers (although I'd still recommend lining the base of the structure with a pee pad for anything longer than a trip to the vet).At first, we only intended to use the Playpen for travel purposes, but like the sleek, modern look of the "octagon" enough to use it inside our home as well. Our cats enjoy it as well!A couple practical points:• The kit did not come with assembly instructions, so when you receive it, refer to the instructions in the photos and video at the top of this webpage to help you put it together. And don't be like me - watch the entire video before you begin assembly; it will almost certainly save you time.• The wood doweling frame, coupled with the Playpen's size, makes it a bit awkward to carry around with a cat inside. If you plan on using it for travel purposes, I'd recommend that you carry your cat(s) in a regular carrier to get him/her/them to the car, and then once you're in the car, move the cat(s) to the Pen.The five of us (two people, three cats) agree - we like the Meow & Woof Cat Playpen! I think we'll eventually buy a second one so we can accommodate all three of our four-legged kids on the road (and add a little symmetry to our living room at home)!

Bought this for bringing home a new kitten to slowly introduce to our 2 year old cat and it was perfect. Now we just keep it in the living room and both cats like to go inside of it to sleep or play it’s so cute! Assembly was a little hard, but once we got it it’s very sturdy and looks great!
