These are expensive, they do work good but will not give you a #4 finish by itself. You must first cut the grain with a different abrasive then come back and use this more as a polish and blend step. It may work if it was much coarser say 36grit, but if you were trying to use this as a one step product it would wear out fast. Metabo sells most of there products to metal workers and the aluminum oxide sand paper that is in between the leaves dulls almost instantly on Stainless. They should revise the product to have at least zirconia preferably ceramic to keep it cutting sharp. If you were using this for wood it will last a very long time.
