I like the idea of espresso on the go, especially at my office job. This machine is sturdy and looks well made. The most disappointing part was the charging as both ends are usbc. So before I could use there had to find a spare power ac adapter. My initial though was OK maybe its two usbcs to charge on the go in a mobile device or PC, but found that this took over two and a half hours to fully charge. It packs the water and espresso and also has a detachable cap for wheb the brewing is complete. Taking it apart to clean and reassembling is hassle free. I'd make sure to charge the night before intended use to make sure the battery is ideal

The Eon Portable Espresso Machine is a refined looking and beautiful travel espresso maker. It's a sleek metal body that has a pretty lines. The pieces for this machine have been thought out with the aesthetics of an espresso aficionado in mind. As a travel machine, it weighs in at a little over 1.6 lbs and most pieces are metal, metal with rubber gaskets, or in the case of the cup, thick plastic. It is compact, but densely heavy. The Eon is only for ground coffee, with no options for other types of coffee pods. The operation is straightforward and directions were helpful and accurate. I found the heating of the water even a little faster than another brand and the power button timing helped to visualize that. The layers of filters within were gorgeous to see and the distribution and tamping really spoke to some serious coffee love. Admittedly, I did not have espresso grind available and my creama was non-existent. This may be operator error but this is also a fairly fast extraction time and may not really allow much time to get that froth. This was not a draw back for me. I followed the clean up instructions and it was fairly painless. This is an espresso maker at its core - the end press is half of that plastic cup (see 3rd pic) or equivalent to a tiny Starbucks shot glass. Espresso die-hards will love this but this is not a coffee maker. You would need a separate way to heat water to even make an Americano. This is heavy metal and not ideal for backpacking due to weight and bulk. It would be a pretty nifty way to indulge for a day hike where weight may matter less. It may work really well for campers who have much smaller footprints, such as tear-drop trailers or caravans (less full-size RVs that tend to have room for or come already tricked out). For its price point it is on par with several other brands so if deciding on a travel espresso machine, may look closely at options - both coffee options (ground only vs pod options) - and attachments (such as car charger option, or focus on espresso experience like this one, with distributor needle and tamper).

Works like my PicoPresso!- My first unit was defective; didn't hold a charge. My second unit works fine.- Fits the HUGH IMS 51mm basket (you need to take the clip out of the basket holder)- Shots are hot coming out of the unit.- Unit works with the Pico Presso stand- Most importantly, it makes a shot similar to my Pico PressoI wanted something more travel-friendly that could also heat water. This unit fits the bill.

I travel a bit for work, and while I’ve got a couple decent coffee setups at home, I’ve been on the hunt for something portable that still gives me a good espresso when I’m out and about without spending five bucks every time I walk past a coffee shop. This one caught my eye because it heats water on its own, which is a big deal for hotel mornings and airport layovers. The build is great...much better than I expected. It feels more like a mini appliance than a gadget, with a nice weight to it and sturdy parts that snap into place confidently. Everything fits together well, and it doesn’t rattle or feel cheap. It’s not ultralight, so I probably wouldn’t throw it in a hiking pack, but for work trips or hotel stays, it’s perfect. It fits in my carry-on without issue, and I appreciate the USB-C charging since that’s already what I use for most of my other gear.As for the espresso, was pleasantly and genuinely surprised. With a good grind and tamp, the crema is decent, and the taste is well balanced—way better than instant, and honestly better than some shots I’ve paid for. It’s got a clean flavor and a satisfying mouthfeel, especially considering the size of the unit.Cleaning takes a couple minutes and some fiddling with the parts, but that’s kind of the deal with any real espresso setup. No major complaints there. Just rinse and reset. Now, the one thing that REALLY bugged me: there’s no light or indicator to tell you when the ring is actually charging. You plug it in, but there’s no visual cue. It just leaves you guessing. It’s a small thing, but kind of an important one. It feels like something they could easily fix in the next version, and if they do, it’ll be a slam dunk product. Frankly, I'm a little stunned they didn't do it to begin with.If you love espresso, travel often, and don’t want to keep draining your wallet every time you want a decent shot, this thing’s a winner. Just keep an eye on the battery level and don’t expect the same pressure or richness you’d get from your full-size machine at home. But for what it is and what it costs, it delivers.
