Excellent grinder - loads of grind settings to allow you to hit the sweet spot in your coffee tastes. Really good value and a worthy replacement for yet another electric grinder that gave up the ghost!

I've evaluated 8 different hand coffee grinders.(If you want information on grain size distribution, the only real objective measure, look up reviews by James Hoffman, I have no way of assessing grind details, and, 'your mileage may vary', as they say.All of them grind coffee, but some are very fussy to set grinds, so if you need to change grinds dramatically, avoid those! This is one of the best 'values' of the bunch, with great ease of grind setting, and use, for very low cost.General observations about all of the ones I evaluated:> Most had removable handles that can come off while grinding, including this one. (A few have ball catch arrangements on the handle shaft to keep it in place.)> Gearing (how many cranks to grind) varies a LOT between them...some require 10 cranks, others, 30 or more (per 50g, my test batch size).- Statements about gear set types is not particularly useful (to me), though I'd expect steel ones to be susceptible to rust over time, stainless ones may dull over time, and ceramic ones are kind of an unknown but shouldn't rust.- Burr type/shape (flat, conical, etc) is beyond my expertise to evaluate - see James Hoffman, again, for that kind of info.Mini Manual Grinder:Clearly a low cost variant, but it works far better than I'd expected - a good, inexpensive way to evaluate these types of grinders if you want to try one.+ Ceramic burr. Grinds very nicely. Won't rust. (Might be an issue for those who use a few drops of water to reduce dust during grinding, since these are all closed up when not in use.)+ Adjust via ring on the top of the unit. No confusing back and forth between the hidden/bottom adjusters. Nice!+ The catch bin is GLASS!!! A nice surprise, and less static prone than plastic, or even metal ones.Has a plastic removable top.The hopper holds 3/4 of my usual 50g load and the plastic lid just pops off, which also help prevent the handle from falling off.Grind time - about a minute. Fairly fast compared to others, but is smaller, so took two fills. While it's light and mostly plastic, the build quality is quite good - not cheap feeling at all.The (glass!) catch cup has a smaller opening than others.(My preferred mini-vacuum cleaner nozzle does not fit into the glass cup...but is less 'dusty' than others.)This also has one of the most useful, best illustrated, simple, easy to understand manual.Excellent performance and usability for such a low price! Also a bit lighter, and thus more portable, for travel.A great 'starter', trial, or temporary use grinder, easy to recommend based on price/performance.

First used today. First impressions; very sturdy, it took me a while to grind for a pot of coffee but the grind was impressive. I love that you can dial in the grind on the outside of grinder. Very recommended., this is a quality hand coffee grinder at a very affordable price.

Small, but well built, does exactly what it's supposed to do. Love the fact that it has the option to set the grind level on the exterior.

I’ve been using it to grind my morning coffee. For one portion a day it’s not too much of a workout. Recommend.
