I was having trouble finding engine short block for my Stihl MS171 as it is different than the MS170 , if you look at where the muffler bolts on you will see the difference, so I decided to give this one a try and it is a perfect fit even better than stock, this one has a few more cc's and it has 2 rings, the bottom end screwed right on with no issues, it started up on the third pull of the cord, I did another cold start and again it started on third pull. The quality seems to be pretty good as well. I haven't given it much use so if I have any issues with it I will update it here. It also arrived a day earlier than what was stated.

ring ends line up in the openings and unfortunately the ring end caught and broke piston was a waste of time and money!!!!!!!!!
