I bought these bags to weigh down my Black&Decker WorkMate portable workbench, to make it a bit more stable. I expected them to be a bit bigger, but I guess they are a good size for their intended purpose - photography equipment. I wish the manufacturer would clearly state the weight of the bags when full of sand/gravel. I've previously used Baser outdoor bags intended for weighing down trampolines (ASIN: B07L5KV8LG), those were clearly sold as 25 kg bags.The bags are made of sturdy looking fabric, although time will tell how it will hold up. Each bag is shaped like a saddlebag, each half is equipped with double zipper. You fill it up, close the inner zipper, then close the outer zipper, which goes in another direction. This should reduce the chance of sand getting out, or one of the zippers breaking. If using sand, I would still recommend to use a strong trash bag as an inner liner (the Baser outdoor bags I mentioned earlier come with such liners included).Sand is easier to fill, but to avoid possible mess, I decided to go with gravel instead. Bought a couple of 25 kg sacks of "Basaltsplitt 2-5 mm" at Hornbach (7.75 € / sack). Turned out, I only needed one sack. I stuffed the saddlebags with gravel as full as I could manage, which is more tricky to do than with sand. When full, each saddlebag weighed around 11.4 kg. I am wondering if it would be a bit more if filled with sand.So the pair is about 22.8 kg. Should be more than enough for weighing down photography tripods or light stands. For my purpose, a bit more weight would be better, but they do make the WorkMate more stable, and are compact enough and easy to handle.Overall, think about your intended usage and whether the weight (around 11.4 kg per bag) is enough for you. If yes, then I can recommend these bags. If you need more weight, look for bigger bags. The Baser outdoor bags I mentioned earlier are quite good 25 kg bags, although relatively expensive and more difficult to move around due to higher weight and different shape.

Trotz Beschwerung (Kameratasche) ist mir ein Stativ umgefallen und hat mich ein Speedlight SB900 gekostet. Nun habe ich diese zwei Sandsäcke besorgt. Super! Allerdings habe ich sie nicht mit Sand, sondern mit Kies (2-8mm im Bauhaus für 3,80€) gefüllt. Jeder Sandsack hat jetzt 7,3 kg (nur zu 80% gefüllt) lässt sich gut übers Stativ legen und befestigen. Saubere Angelegenheit, gut zu transportieren und sehr professionell.

Es kommen zwei Taschen, die nicht befüllt sind. Man kann einfach Sand reinpacken und dann hat man zwei recht robuste Sandsäcke. Den Preis finde ich nicht ganz gerecht, weil's wirklich nur Sandsäcke sind! Trotzdem erfüllen sie ihren Zweck und halten das Stativ an seinen Platz ohne Probleme. Es reichen bei meinem kleinen Stativ zwei Säcke. Bei einem großen Stativ, was mehr als 5kg zu halten hat, sollte man stärkere und größere Sandsäcke nutzen.

Ich war mit der Qualität nicht zufrieden. Ich habe den Sack gefüllt und beim ersten verschließen sind beide Reißverschlüsse defekt gewesen. Vielleicht war es ein montagsprodukt.

Ich habe die Sandsäcke mit frischem Spielsand aus dem Baumarkt befüllt. Die Sandsäcke halten dicht und haben ein erhebliches Gewicht. Einen besonders ausgeprägten "China-Chemie-Geruch" konnte ich nicht feststellen. Alles top. Meine Erwartungen wurden voll erfüllt.

It's something so simple in its form and in its function. A sandbag. But modern. And robust. And it's made so you can perfectly balance a heavy-loaded tripod, or even to counteract the force of the wind when it's blowing against your softbox. That's when Neewer's sandbag really came in handy for me during a photoshoot; it absolutely spared me humiliation of my tripod being toppled over while photographing my client.Because the bag actually has two well sowed-in velcro straps on each side to close the bag, you can go with the traditional sand to use as weight, or you can just pop in some bottles of water.
