It is small, has light and measures positve and negative degrees which was all I needed to level my bike trainer . I was suprised by the "Error" on the display once I've switched it on but that turned out to be the position of the level . Tested it on different surfaces and saw the values I was expecting . Cannot say if it is accurate to a tenth of a degree nor how long it will work.

I have been very pleased this item and have now been using it for mutliple applications.The unit arrives in just a plain box, but it does include a set of AAA batteries so it is ready to go as soon as you have read over the simple 1 page "how to". It is fairly easy to get the hang of it's basic operation once you have had a few trial runs with it.The tool housing itself is very robust and it does have a quality feel. I do believe the housing is aluminum so it should remain true and last. The operation buttons have a good tactile feel to them. I think my only criticism would be that they all look alike and over time (if you don't use this regularly) you will probably have to reacquaint yourself with what button does what before each use.The backlighting is also a must as I find the traditional LCD style display a little hard to read if you not in good lighting. The unit also has a magnetized base and that certainly comes in handy in many situations.I have now made use of this for helping to install a TV mount, measure the pitch of a section of roof, setting up a hand rainling and even to set the degree of tilt of pivot mount on a custom arcade machine I created that has a 40inch display that flips from landscape to portrait orientation with amazing results (for virtual pinball play)I feel that for its listing price, this is excellent value for money. This is certainly more accurate that a simple torpedo level that I use often and is much easier to wield than a longer (and heavier) aluminum I-beam style level with the added benefit of actually giving you a reading in degrees and even telling you what the pitch of an angle is. It gives you are reading that is within .1 degree and I feel that I have confirmed with during my actual use over a couple of weeks. I think I saw a review complaing about this not being more that super accurate? I frankly don't understand this kind of criticism? It is amazingly accurate, all things considered. I have made use of nothing more than bubble style levels and mechanical style indicators for years and this thing is way beyond that in terms of being able to quickly zero in on what you are dealing with. For my purposes, being within .1 degree (1 tenth!!) is more than acceptable.I have no problem recommending this, but I think I will dock it just slightly as the actual reading was not always able to be easily read in low light and I had to make use of the green backlighting in most situations. I almost feel the "default" mode should be to have it always power on with the green backlighting on when you push the power button.
