I highly recommend this product. My husband is in a memory care facility with Alzheimer’s. The facility had one that he claimed as his 😊. I bought one that is a different color. Put his name on it. He takes it everywhere. The staff is always telling me that was smart to buy it.There is a place for pictures. He loves that too.

I ordered this for a developmentally disabled family member who enjoys things like this. I like that this one can be personalized with the different photo pouches (even comes with an assortment of choices) and has varied activities that take different engagement. The book is substantial yet soft, and it gives her pleasure to go through the pages and interact with the activities and then close it and carry it around as her possession.It seems pretty well-made overall, with two exceptions:1) One page has little flowers that are removable, so they can be exchanged on the stems or placed in a little pocket. These can easily be swallowed or lost. This is a negative for me, because my family member puts a lot of things to/in her mouth as a way of relating to the environment. I will have to sew the flowers to the book so she will not be able to do this.2) One of the flowers had the hook fastener (of hook-and-loop, like Velcro) on both the flower and the book (where it should have been loop on the flower and hook on the book), so it would not stick to any of the stems.Otherwise, she enjoys it and enjoys carrying it around. Her favorite seems to be ruffling and petting the brown fur. I put a picture of her in the front pocket and she is proud to carry around and show everyone HER book.

This book is thick & well-stitched. Lots of textures & colors and places for photos or keepsakes. Good for dementia patients or anyone who enjoys textures and manual dexterity activities -- though there are choking hazards in it. I recall my Sunday School group giving soap gifts to seniors when we visited a convalescent home down the road, and one gentleman tried to eat his soap gift. I was very young but it made a big impression on me.My daughter has a calming area set up for her young kids if one of them is getting too rowdy ("dysregulated" is the term now, I think) to take a break, where she has books and quiet activities to distract and calm them. I plan to add this to her area when I babysit next time.My grandkids are ages 3 and up; I wouldn't recommend this for young kids under 3 or anyone who puts things in their mouths as there are a few loose or removable things in this book that can be considered choking hazards. For example, there are little flowers that are fixed with velcro and easily removed, and there is also a pocket with a button sewn on. Use your discretion depending on the person it's for.4 stars from me!

This fidget book is awesome! It’s extremely well made and very well thought out. It comes with different photos to choose from to put in the clear pocket on the front, but you can also put your own photo in that pocket. The first page has multiple pockets for photos and there’s room around the pockets where you can use HTV to put names of who is in the photos which would be a big help for those with dementia. I plan on using my Cricut to personalize many of the pages with HTV, there is quite a bit of space available to add to each page. Each of the other pages all have different textures, activities and materials. I’ve included photos of each page. The page with the maze on it you can push around the beads that are under the fabric to go through the maze. They really did great at choosing different things for each page. Not only is this a great fidget book for those with dementia, it’s perfect for toddlers and anyone else of any age who could use something to focus on at different times during the day. It really is well made too and super durable. All the stitching is straight and secure and I think it will hold up to lots and lots of use. I highly recommend this to anyone with a loved one who might benefit from it, I really think they’ll end up loving it.

Purchased for my sister, who has been a victim of Alzheimer's Disease for about 5 years. As she loses the skills she had acquired through a life of productive work, including raising a wonderful family, she is now at a level where her interactions with her environment are limited and mostly without obvious purpose. Most days she will sit in a chair in her living room and either stare out the window or "fidget" with paper items. We purchased this item as an alternative activity, in hopes of promoting some level of wellness and also more functional stimulation. To date she has had it over a week, and she loves it. I highly recommend it.
