It needs a small wagon with a lot of weight and a potent locomotive on the front or back. Some cleaning fluid on the pad is also a good option.

We had issues with trains running in tunnel areas, as we couldn't reach easily for a decent clean despite being accessible. This was a much better option and I wasn't expecting it to work as well as it has. I also added some drops of solvent cleaner to the first one used, and after 5 minutes of running the train round, it's done the job.The track doesn't look as shiny as it would using the abrasive block, but the trains are running perfectly again and it saves me accessing the tunnels as often.It raises the wagons or carriages a little, so you need to drag it rather than push, so some of the wheels still guide well. But this will depend on whats below the carriage. If there is nothing below it, it will be fine.
