This is kinda expensive for what is essentially a little drawer to store your espresso grounds. The build quality is nice though. Made of stamped sheet metal.

This is a beaauuutiful, high quality, commercial grade knock box. The body on this is absolutely professional looking. It’s made of highly polished stainless steel, and built to last a lifetime. This thing is so sturdy. I would expect to see it at any five star restaurant that serves espresso. I love the fact that it’s a drawer - It hides the grinds, keeps them enclosed, and also allows you to put things on top of it (though it would hide the beauty of it if you did). As you can see from the length of it, it holds a lot. The bar is easily removable, yet is absolutely stable and stays in place. Normcore is one of the best and this is no exception, though there are a couple of things for me that bring it down one star, though still I would absolutely recommend it regardless. The first one being is that as beautiful, solid, and professional as this baby is, the handle is rough - surprisingly so. I am not saying that you’ll get a splinter on it (I highly doubt that. In fact I’d go so far as to say you won’t), but you definitely feel the semi-abrasiveness on your hand when you go to pull the drawer out. It’s almost as if they forgot to sand it to finish it. It just does not match the extreme high quality of the rest of it. You expect a smooth as butter handle to go with this and it's quite surprising to feel it’s not. The second thing is the drawer. While I know that it’s meant to be able to pull out easily to be able to empty it, there is no kind of stop to it whatsoever. It just pulls right out completely. Now, I know me…I’m the kind of person that can somehow do the impossible. Like when someone says “Don’t worry you can hit any button, you won’t mess anything up or delete it. It’s impossible!” when doing something on the computer. No. No friend it is not, because I somehow, in one fell swoop without even looking or trying can mess it up and delete it so hard, you’ll never find it again ever - unintentionally. So, I am worried that even though this box is solid and shouldn’t tip with the drawer partially pulled out, or go flying somehow, that it will. Because it’s me, And if you, like me, have that ‘gift’ as well of somehow seemingly pulling off the unintended impossible, you might be concerned as well. It would be so helpful if there was something there to make that harder to happen. Lastly, if you are someone who doesn't like fingerprints on something, this will drive you crazy. The slightest touch will leave fingerprints emblazoned across it, and it will take some work to get them off. Once again, this is a high quality product that I fully recommend even with those faux pas, I just don’t feel I can give it a perfect score, though I would still get this again for sure. Normcore makes amazing products and this is no exception. If they fix those few tiny things, they would knock it out of the park as usual!

Seems high quality, and looks good! I wish it was brushed stainless instead of polished, but it still looks nice. The drawer slides in and out well, and is easy to remove for emptying. The knock bar comes out easily for rinsing off. The whole thing seems to be made of stainless, minus the bar that is coated in rubber or silicone, and the wooden handle, so you don't have to worry about anything rusting, including the screws.

Overall this is a pretty great knock box. The body of the box is made out of quite thick metal, and the knock bar is solidly incorporated into the design. The drawer also has a foot under the knock bar, which stabilizes the knock box on whatever surface you put it on. The feet have rubber-ish pads on the bottom which stabilize it, and the wood handle and silver exterior are quite attractive. I have a small tamping stand, which I put on top of the knock box, and that has saved me quite a bit of space. The price, however, is the main downside; at $87 at time of review, it is quite pricey for something that has a similar functionality to other knockboxes around $20. The unique construction and stylish design do add value to the table, however.
