When I pulled this Osprey pack out of the bag, I was instantly impressed. The mint and blue color was a welcome break from my usual collection of black gear, and the material felt premium—though not quite as indestructible as some of their older models. But hey, when you’ve got Osprey’s legendary warranty, do you really need to worry? The zippers? Smooth as butter. No snags, no frustration—just effortless gliding. It was love at first zip.I took this pack snowboarding, expecting it to flop around like an untrained puppy, but nope—it stayed locked in place thanks to the well-designed chest and waist straps. Five different adjustment points meant I could tweak it to fit just right, which was a huge win when I needed mobility on the slopes. The zipper loops were another small but mighty feature—wrapped in TPU so I could grab them with gloves on. Osprey really thought of everything here.Then came the one surprise—this pack has some serious weight even when empty. Turns out, the plastic back frame designed for airflow isn’t just for show; it adds noticeable heft. When I first lifted it, I half-expected someone to tell me I was at leg day in the gym. But once packed and strapped in, the weight balanced out and wasn’t an issue. Bottom line? It’s still an Osprey, meaning it’s built to last, well-designed, and covered by a warranty that ensures you’ll never have to say goodbye.

This is a unique hiking backpack from others that I have purchased. What really sets it apart is that it has a strong frame, like a traditional rucksack. The frame is highly supportive of gear and supplies and makes it easier to carry by structuring the load. This is the top pick for hiking backpacks, hands down. Highly recommended.

Maybe it has to do with the Bluesign certification, but Osprey bags don't have the premium feel they used to. All the plastic parts on this bag just felt cheap. They have more prominent parting lines and feel like they will snap.I was also surprised how heavy this bag is when empty. The plastic frame for the back air passages has significant weight. Other than that, the rest of the bag is great. It still has the Osprey warranty so if anything does break you can get it fixed or replaced for free.On a more positive note, I do like the loops on the zippers. They are spread open with TPU over molding so you can easily hook your finger on the zipper.

This bag has the best support of any small day bag I’ve worn. The straps are done a little differently and each one pulls exactly where it’s needed. This is the bag for carrying a bunch of bulky gear that would normally poke me in the back. Stuff like my camera, binoculars, lights, this bag carries whatever without me noticing any weird lumpiness. It can be tightened so the contents aren’t shaken over a bumpy road. Every feature is designed with intention and works as intended. The back pad is stiff no matter what, so this bag feels consistent regardless how it’s packed. My one complaint would be the depth, it doesn’t expand a whole lot, even fully loose. The elastic on the front is the perfect size for a 40oz Hydroflask and the flaps keep it from falling loose. I think this must be the most effective bungee on a bag front I’ve used to handle a full bottle like that.All the materials and components are nice. Nothing is skimped for a lesser version. The zippers pull smoothly. Extra durable. Light for how sturdy and supportive it is. Keeps my gear dry thru the rain.
