Osprey Transporter Waist Pack

I'm a big fan of Osprey and have a few of their bags. I also have a Camelback waist pack that I use frequently for biking and going to amusement parks that has a water bladder in it, but I wanted something similar for other times when I don't need the water pack. This pack is very nice and is just the right size for a day out with the family to hold cell, keys, sunscreen, or whatever else may be needed. The pack has a relatively rigid back on it that is made to help airflow which is very nice. The material is great and the warranty is amazing; this is a really good company that makes quality products and stands behind them.

This is a really well made pack, with the attention to detail that is typical with Osprey packs. I probably own half a dozen products from Osprey, some I have owned for over 20 years and still use frequently. This "fanny pack" maintains that tradition of high quality, but I'm not crazy about the design and comfort of it. Here are some of the issues I have:1. Stiff "Airscape" back. I have this on several of my Osprey backpacks and in that use, it works very well - it lifts the pack off your back, gives it rigidity, and airspace between your clothing and skin and the pack. Unfortunately incorporating it into a waist pack just makes the pack unnecessarily bulky and stiff- fit won't conform to your waist and instead wants to stiffly lay flat across your belly (in the event you wear it in the front). I'm hoping it will conform to my waist over time, but even if that becomes the case, the 1/4" thickness of the closed cell foam padding feels like it takes up a lot of space.2. Not enough space - because it is very stiff, the pack really wants to lay flat, which pulls the front straight. The front zipper will not hold an iPhone 14 Pro (the regular sized one), and *barely" holds my bi-fold wallet with a couple of credit cards in it an nothing else. The main pocket is so small that it will just barely accommodate sunglasses (in a soft case), car key fob, AirPods, phone, and a phone. I literally have to jam these items in to make them fit. If you are looking for a very minimalist waist pack, this might be a great option for you. But if you're looking for something you can CCW, forget about it. the elastic loops inside are really not as useful as they could be because the overall space is so small.3. No "hidden zipper" in the back where it meets your body. I like having something like that for my ID or train tickets. etc while traveling that is separate from the main compartment, but not as obvious as the front zipper that is much more susceptible to pickpockets.What I do like:The material seems really tough. It sheds water and really feels indestructible. I have a feeling this will last a long time. The stitching and zippers are typical excellent quality for Osprey.Bottom line, if you're looking for something that is very "Structured" and will hold just your essentials, this is a very well made waist pack. But if you are looking for something for CCW or prefer something you can roll into a ball and throw into another pack or carry in a jacket pocket, this is not the waist pack for you.

Good durable waist pack with organization, I have a spot for my phone, wallet, keys, and a snack- but there's much more room to pack it up. The interior mesh pockets with the elastic edges keeps things like my chapstick and AirPods in place, perfect since those are my two most reached for items in my bag and I always rummaging around for them. I really like the design of it and the durable fabric. Probably my favorite design feature is that the main zippered opening on top is a flap style opening, so I can see right down into my pack.The one thing I don't like about it is that the strap is short. I'm 5 ft 4 inches, medium build, I do have a larger chest, but I can't wear this like a sling. I had planned on wearing this as my edc, a perfect sling to take me from everyday-to-hikes. But, I don't like wearing fanny packs around my waist when I'm not hiking. So, this bag will be reserved for only camping, hiking, any other outdoor event of the like.

It is well constructed and durable, but it doesn't fit much. I love Osprey so know its good quality, I am just disappointed that it's hard to use it and carry my things. But maybe that's just me and maybe I try to take too many things with me.

This travel pack is large, but the interior is limited. It has a stiff back and is sturdy. The inner pocket is quite thin. I was able to get my wallet, passport, and other small things in here, but it's a tight fit. There are a few inner zippers and a hidden keyring attached to the pack.This is only a fanny pack and can't be worn across your body over a shoulder. It's heavier than it looks. Honestly, I stopped using it after one day on our European trip and got a cheaper bag in Amsterdam.
