For the curious: there are plenty of in-depth reviews on YouTube for OWON's XDG2XXX series of waveform generators that I can't hope to compete with. I'm coming at this from much more of a hobbyist stand point, and also hoping to use this to help me analyze and develop and more intuitive understanding of some basic circuitry components.The generator and its accessories came well packaged, and the overall build quality seems solid. I've found the interface pretty straight forward and intuitive so far. The Siglent scope I hooked this up to seemed to agree with everything the generator claimed to be throwing at it. I haven't tried reading the included CD yet to see what kind of interface software they offer. Overall this seems like a pretty capable piece of kit for the price.

So far so good. The only gripe is that it slides too easily when placed on the desktop, because it's so light. I'll have to add a couple of screws or mounting tape to allow 1-handed operation.

It's quite big in comparison to most 7" oscilloscopes today, about twice as big as the Rigol.I've seen a lot of questions on the youtube channels where reviewers never answer the basic questions, so for you old timers out there that wonders if this is a regular Function generator, yes it is.Q: Can it do Audio?A: Yes it can. You can even do two channel audio if you wish.Q: Is it like a regular Function Generator with the usual waveforms, Sine, Triangle, Sweep etc?A: Yes it is, it can do everything your old school FG could do, and then some.Q: Any advantages to this rather than an regular FG?A: Yes, there's a ton of modulation types, which is good for radio amateurs, also - you can have custom waveforms, there's about 150+ of them. All sorts of modulation types too, AM,FM,DSB,PSK,BPSK etc..Q: Can it be an RF signal generator?A: Yes kind of, up to 30 MHz.Q: Can it do two types of waveforms on each?A: Yes, fully independent as if you had two function generators.
