This lock seems a bit more solid (and offer more protection) than similar ones at the same price. 3 digit combination is easy to set, although the package did not come with instructions. A quick search of the lock brand, type & how to set combination, and it's easy to find the instructions.

Das Schloß wurde mit dem Pacsafe 5 l mitgeliefert.Die Erklärung zum Code einstellen sind nur rudimentär. Die Zahlen lassen sich extrem schlecht einstellen. Letztlich ist dann auch noch ein Plastik-Innenteil gebrochen. Taugt nichts.

This lock has excellent security features for travel. I love the push button on the bottom for added security, I've never seen that before! I'm always happy with PacSafe quality and this lock seems very well built. The plastic body is not a problem because it's high-grade plastic. The lock is a bit bigger than I expected from the photo, but that is a good thing because it is very strong and thieves won't have a clue how to open it.

Unbrauchbar da irgend jemand bei der Voreinstellung geschlampt hat. Mit 000 lässt sich das Schloss nicht öffnen. Naja es gibt ja nur noch 999 Möglichkeiten, der Zeitvertreib bis Weihnachten ist gesichert.Vielleicht haue ich das teure Ding ja auch einfach nur in die Tonne.

The lock itself is in good working order, and certainly looks a whole lot better then most of these travel locks. The mechanism is explained in the manual and not that difficult. Although plastic, it is sturdy enough for just being a bagage lock.However, all pictures I found of this lock were with a tsa 005 style lock. I received them with a tsa 007, which seems to be a hefty design downgrade, as keys for a tsa 007 can be bought for only a couple of bucks online.So with a tsa 005 it would have been a 4+ star review, given that they replaced it with the most abused version, only 3 starts for this otherwise good product.

Es ist schwer, schaut massiv ist, ist von der Marke PacSafe, wieso also nur vier statt fünf Sterne?Gesucht habe ich ein passendes Schloss für meinen PacSafe 5l DryBag, da hier seitens PacSafe kein Schloss beigelegt wird (warum eigentlich...?)Die Initialeingeben des eigenen Codes ist denkbar einfach, auch wenn es etwas Kraftaufwand benötigt. Man muss nämlich unterhalb des Schlosses den Knopf, der das Schloss öffnet, hinausziehen (am ehesten mit den Fingernägeln) und um 90° drehen um den Code zu ändern. Das ist etwas fitzelig gelöst, aber wenn es mal eingestellt ist, wird man wohl nie wieder unabsichtlich eine andere Kombination einstellen. Eigentlich sehr positiv anzumerken.Das Schloss wirkt extrem stabil, ist dementsprechend schwer und der Bügel schaut auch nicht so aus, als müsste man einfach dran reißen damit es kaputt geht. Ich würde das Schloss eher für Spinde verwendet und nicht für die vielleicht dafür vorgesehen Taschen, da sich das Zahlenschloss schwer bedienen lässt an einer Tasche direkt, wegen des dicken Bügels bewegt es sich nicht gut hin und her um mit den Fingern die Zahlen einzugeben.Genau deswegen eigentlich nur vier Sterne. Das Schloss ist vielleicht etwas dicker als nötig und macht es damit umständlich, die Zahlenkombination einzugegen. Das Schloss ist jetzt auf meine große PacSafe 36Liter Tasche gewandert, dort hat es mehr Platz, auf meiner kleinen 5Liter Tasche habe ich ein andere Schloss (siehe Bilder) jetzt oben, welches sich einfacher bedienen lässt.

Brilliant! So easy to set your own 3-digit code, really sturdy-feeling padlock for what I want to use it for which is through the hole on the Roobar lock on my Pacsafe Vibe 25 litre rucksack - I have to transport confidential paperwork and audio recordings, so I feel I've got the best system now!

Ich reise viel und habe mehrere Rucksäcke. Alle hat eine von dieser cooler Schloss bekommen. Nur mit dieser fühle ich mich sicher, weil es Qualität ist.

For my three-week trip to UAE and India, I was effectively hotel hopping and railroading across India. Goods lock are a must as every hotel I stopped at in India had no issue watching my luggage while I toured about. I needed a travel lock with a longer shackle and had success with a previous Pacsafe product and decided to try this out. For typical suitcase zipper locking, this lock is on the big side and while not heavy, the extra shackle space may defeat the strength of the lock. Also note that this lock is Travel Sentry, meaning airport security for countries in the system (mainly USA TSA) can open the lock with a special key and relock your bag without cutting the lock. Avoid using Travel Sentry locks for non-travel use when security is a priority.For my application, I used this lock to lock the laptop and cargo compartments of my Eagle Creek Morpheus 22 inch 2-in-1 suitcase. The shackle was long enough to lock each pair of zippers to the fabric latch point. On quality suitcases, these fabric strips keep a thief from puncturing the bag zipper with a ballpoint pen, stealing your stuff, then moving the locked zippers over the punctured track to re-zip the bag and thus make you ignorant of the theft. All this being said, remember that luggage locks on soft walled suitcases are theft deterrents at best, nothing more. When used as I described, someone would have had to conspicuously wreck my suitcase to steal from it, and I could have noticed immediately.The lock itself is well made: the shackle is sturdy and the plastic body feels good to the touch, like a quality product. To set the combo, one opens the shackle, pulls the bottom tumbler (where the TSA key goes) and turns 90 degrees. Twist the dials to your preferred combo and then reset the tumbler. To unlock the shackle, dial the combo and press the tumbler in (upward) and the shackle will spring out. To lock, press the shackle into the lock and listen and fee the "click." This is a positive locking mechanism, meaning the shackle with lock in place whether the proper combo is set or no, but naturally if you forget to scramble the dials after locking the shackle, any other idiot can simply press the tumbler to open the lock.One caveat about this lock that another reviewer here spotted dead on: If you get the first two numbers correctly dialed in on this lock, you can feel out the third number by pressing on the tumbler. To be fair, most three dial locks are similarly flawed. As such, I would not recommend this lock for extended unsupervised use (24+ hours). But I would say the same for any 10 digit, 3 dial combo lock.I was thoroughly satisfied with this lock's performance on my long trip and can readily recommend so long as you are aware of what luggage locks are for--DETERRENCE.c. Pacsafe is a well know brand name for the travel security products. Sometimes they're excellent (Prosafe 800 or 310) , sometimes they're rubbish (Prosafe 900). This one is somewhere in between, but leaning towards excellent. Let's start with the size - 75mm including the shackle / 49mm body only x 33mm x 20mm, with the 3.9mm shackle. So, not small at all, as the previous review says. Now this may be due to a clever design by Pacsafe, but it is much lighter than one would expect of a padlock of that size - only 75g. I have smaller padlocks that weigh more.So, that doesn't instill confidence of security, or even sturdiness required to survive the airport luggage handlers. Having said all that, although only time and real life testing will tell, I have a feeling that it will do the job. Which, in my case, is mainly to stop the opportunistic thieves wherever they are, hotels, airports, etc, where they just unzip, grab and move on. A determined thief, with plenty of time, cannot be stopped by anything.Otherwise, I like the nice large numbers that I can see without the glasses and an unusual unlocking mechanism (one has to press a button to unlock, after setting the combination - this means that even if you forget to scramble the dial, the lock will stay in place).The four stars is only due to the lack of the warm feeling of security that a heavy padlock would give...
