This product is exactly as shown.How adorable is this cute little superhero?! He is so tiny, but he can handle such an important task: hold a pot lid open!It's Christmas and what do you buy for a grandpa who has everything else on planet Earth? He does like to make us homemade pasta sauce, and when he does, it involves simmering it all day, ideal with the lid just slightly open.Well, have no fear. This little superhero is gonna save the day! As shown, he will hang on to the side of the pot and, with his two hands, hold the lid open for you so you don't have to. You can go watch a football game instead, checking back periodically.It made Grandpa laugh when he opened the gift to find this little guy ready to work.When there's no lid, superhero can hold your stirring spoon.Pricing-wise, it's $16 at the time of review. I am a very cost conscious person, so this price would normally give me pause. HOWEVER, because of its novelty and it was meant as a gift, I got it.

OK, this little dude is cute!! I haven't used him as a spoon holder since I have a spoon rest for multiple spoons. But he definitely does his job well to prop up lids and let the steam escape from pots. I seem to have a problem with figuring out the exact temp of my electric stovetop to keep things boiling, but not boiling over. I've cleaned the top of my stove too many time due to this. I even tried the old "put a spoon over the middle of the open pot" trick, and that doesn't work for me.Enter this cute little guy and my problem is solved! He holds the lid about 1-1.5" up and it's perfect. I've tried to skew the pan lid to accomplish the same thing, and the lid would always fall back into place and then I'm cleaning the stovetop again due to the mess made when a pan boils over.I do think he's a little higher in price than I'm comfortable with, but it does the job well, and it's insanely cute. This would make a great gift for any cook in the house!
