It grabs the lanyard fine, but difficult to pull yourself in closer to the tree you're working in one handed.

Climbed with this about 5 times now. I use it on a flip rope or lanyard for an arborist climbing harness. Works great, probably the best I've used with one hand because you can open it all the way and the weight of the rope will let it slide through.I might not use it as a decent devise, I imagine it would be difficult to feather and control the speed of the rope.

The only thing I don’t like about it is that it doesn’t open for easy hookup. That being said it’s just what I ordered
