The BDR-XS07TS slim slot portable USB 3.2 Gen1(3.0) BD/DVD/CD burner is the next generation Blu-ray Disc burner from Pioneer. The The BDR-XS07TS slim slot portable USB 3.2 Gen1(3.0) BD/DVD/CD burner is the next generation Blu-ray Disc burner from Pioneer. The BDR-XS07TS has a smooth slot loading mechanism that both dependable dustproof and excellent quietness have been realized. The drive supports BDXL and M-DISC format and can read and write to all BDXL discs1 including BD-R triple-layer 100GB media, BD-R quad-layer 128GB media, and BD-RE triple layer 100GB media, as well as conventional Blu-ray discs (single-layer 25GB media and dual-layer 50GB media) (Application software is not included.). The portable device, measuring only 135mm (W) X 135mm (D) X 18.0mm (H) and weighing a mere 280g, also has the ability to be powered directly via USB (no AC adaptor required).
With BDXL and M-DISC support, you can now back up your files with fewer discs than ever before, and since the drive is portable and USB bus powered, all of this can be done virtually anywhere.
The BDR-XS07TS can write up to 6x *2 on BD-R and BD-R dual-layer (DL) media. One BD-R DL disc can hold the same amount of data as 10 DVDs (single-layer). One QL disc can hold the same amount of data as 27 DVDs (single-layer). The drive is also backward compatible to read and write to most DVD and CD recordable media. Please check and see all supported media formats and the read and write/burn speeds achievable for each format.
The BDR-XS07TS also has unique features such as PowerRead *3, Auto Quiet mode, and PureRead4+ *4. PowerRead can provide smoother movie playback when a disc has fingerprints or minor surface scratches. Auto Quiet mode intelligently adjusts the disc rotation speed to reduce noise (useful while watching movies or listening to music), and PureRead automatically adjusts the drive parameters to minimize sound glitches during music playback. Auto Quiet mode and PureRead can be configured as well as enabled and disabled with the Pioneer BDR-XS07TS Drive Utility.

Scratches and fingerprints on your CDs can cause them to skip. A drive normally makes a calculated guess at the unreadable data and attempts to correct this to match the original music. However, this is not 100% accurate. PureRead4+, when enabled, makes the drive reread the obscured data to extract the original music as accurately as possible.

DVDs und Blu Rays werden prompt erkannt und schnell und gleichmäßig gelesen. Dabei kommt es auch nicht zu ständigen Neu-Positionierungen des Lesekopfes, wie ich sie bei einem Billiggerät hatte.Das Laufgeräusch ist ausreichend leise.Das Gerät hat kein fest angebrachtes Kabel, sondern ein beiliegendes Kabel mit USB 3-Stecker, so das man problemlos auch auf andere/längere Kabel ausweichen kann.Medien werden über Slot-In Mechanismus eingezogen, was ich persönlich besser finde als Laufwerke, wo man die Medien mehr oder minder brutal auf eine Spindel aufrasten mussDie Stromversorgung erfolgt über das USB-Kabel, so das kein zusätzliches Netzteil nötig ist. Trotzdem gibt es einen Stromanschluss für ein externes Netzteil (welches nicht mitgeliefert wird).Die Brenn-Funktion habe ich nicht getestet, da ich keine DVDs/Blu Rays brenne!Wenn ich überhaupt Kritik hätte, dann wäre es höchstens der Kaufpreis, welcher 2,4x so hoch ist wie bei einem Billig-Laufwerk. Trotzdem würde ich es jederzeit wieder kaufen.

Das externe Blu-ray Laufwerk ist wertig verarbeitet. Das Laden der Disks ist mit der Slot-In Mechanik komfortabel und deutlich besser zu bedienen als ein Brenner mit einer Schublade Die Anschlussmöglichkeiten entsprechen dem aktuellen Standard. Sowohl mit dem mitgelieferten Kabel USB C auf USB A als auch mit einem reinen USB C Kabel funktioniert der Brenner ohne Einschränkungen. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Laufwerk funktioniert bestens an einem Mac Mini unter MacOS, passt vom Design gut dazu und arbeitet recht schnell. Ein passendes beidseitiges USB-C Kabel muss leider extra besorgt werden (es liegt nur USB-C auf USB-A bei). Die Auswurftaste funktioniert am Mac erwartungsgemäß nicht. Das Laufwerk ist deutlich zu hören, wenn es arbeitet - aber auch nicht unerträglich laut. Alles in allem empfehlenswert.

OVERVIEW:The only reason this technology makes sense any longer is if you’re interested in writing M-discs, presumably lasting more than a lifetime.For anything else, it is much cheaper, faster and simpler to use any other form of storage: USBs, external HDDs, etc. Keep in mind, on top of the price of the writer, you will pay 70-80 EUR for each 5 blanks (5 x 100GB), and an HDD 4 times that size is cheaper.TECHNICAL:It takes over 6 (!!!) hours to write a disk and verify it. Anything over 2x speed increases the risk of write failure. Basically, the only way you can write discs and not impair your ability to use the PC is to leave it writing overnight. In other words, the most I could write was 1 disc/day.And even at 2x speed, it wrote one disk well, but messed up the 2nd and the 3rd. The discs are of the highest quality (and most expensive) on the market, so I highly suspect it’s the writer’s fault.I gave up and decided to send the device back after losing 3 nights, and only ending up with 1 good disk. I also lost 80 EUR, since I can’t send the failed discs back.MODEL ALERT:Pay attention to what model you are being delivered. The item description & picture are from the model "BDR-XS07TS", which costs 159 EUR, and the delivered item (in my case) was the model "BDR-XD07TS", valued at 112 EUR.CONCLUSIONS:I do NOT recommend this product, and I will not order it again, for at least three reasons:- 1st, disc players are becoming obsolete faster than VHS players did, so you may have a tough time finding a player to read the discs from in a few years or decades.- 2nd, the seller shipped a much cheaper/worse model than the one that’s advertised.- 3rd, the amount of time and effort it takes to use the device is incompatible with modern standards.For playing movies you can use Plex or other similar software, and there are better options if you’re looking to safely backup your files.For the same price, I would suggest ordering a second HDD/SSD and creating a RAID1 array, or investing a little more into a NAS device, which also comes with dozens of other advantages.

La compré para hacer copias de archivado en Bluray M-DISC en discos de Bluray XL de 100GB. La ventaja de hacer estas copias de archivado con respecto a discos duros, es precisamente porque en un disco óptico será invariante a Malwares o campos electromagnéticos. Es de altísima calidad, graba perfectamente y además el sistema de carga por ranura es comodísimo. Viene bien presentada en su caja con sus manuales. El único pero es que el botón de extraer disco puede no funcionar bien en MacOS teniendo que hacer la extracción desde el Sistema Operativo, para que escupa el disco.

Arrivato nei tempi concordati e prima di scrivere una recensione ho voluto testarlo, preso per sostituire un vecchio Samsung BluRay (uno dei primissimi masterizzatori esterni) mi sono trovato davvero bene, device molto silenzioso prova di scrittura positiva con CD DVD e Blu-ray da 25 GB.Unica pecca è che non includano alcun software per la riproduzione/masterizzazione per il resto ottimo prodotto

Ce lecteur/graveur tient ses promesses et on retrouve la qualité Pioneer. Le vrai plus c'est l'utilisation réelle de la bande passante de l'USB 3 avec une prise USB-C et sa reconnaissance directe par les machines Apple équipées de ports USB-C/thunderbolt… Bien d'autres boîtiers qui ont des prises USB-C ne sont soit pas reconnus, soit affichent des vitesses anémiques.Ce qu'on aurait aimé de la part de Pioneer : un boîtier métal vu le prix (certains concurrents en ont de magnifiques) et un câble USB-C/USB-C avec un adaptateur USB-A plutôt que le câble USB-C/USB-A…Et bon à savoir, le lecteur est "bridé" en lecture en x2 pour être silencieux… Ce bridage peut être levé avec l'utilitaire BDR dédié disponible sur le site de Pioneer JP mais qui ne tourne que sur Windows. En revanche, une fois débridé, la lecture en x6 reste la norme.

Macht exakt was es soll, läuft leise und zuverlässig.Ich kann die Kommentare hier bzgl. des Geräuschpegels nicht verstehen, das Laufwerk ist nicht lauter (oder leiser) als ein Internes Gerät. Man hört ein leises Rauschen und ab und zu die Bewegung der Linse. Sonst nichts.Das Gerät ist super verarbeitet und wirkt sehr hochwertig.Anschluß per USB-C funktioniert natürlich auch, wenn man nur ein USB-C Kabel verwendet, die Beschreibung des Laufwerks ist da etwas missverständlich. Da sieht es so aus, als ob man es nicht direkt an einen USB-C Port am PC anschliessen könne.Das ist aber wohl nur falsch übersetzt. Gemeint ist, dass man mit dem beigelegten USB-A auf USB-C Kabel das Laufwerk nicht an einen PC anschliessen kann, der nur USB-C Ports hat, was ja auch logisch ist.Über das Kabel vom meinem iPad Pro läuft das Ding aber super am USB-C Port des Rechners.

I got this to replace a USB DVD drive, so I could watch Blu-ray discs on my laptop. Very happy with it. You do need some suitable software to play Blu-ray videos though - the free Leawo player is clunky and a bit ad-ridden but does the job, and VLC (with some tweaking) should also work but seems less reliable. I may invest in PowerDVD at some point.Though the case seems to be plastic, the metallised top feels robust and looks very smart, matching my Dell XPS-15 :-) I particularly like the fact the cable isn't integral, but plugs into a USB-C socket on the back.In use the drive feels fast and smooth, and is pretty quiet, though that can be controlled by the Pioneer Drive utility. It also managed to read some problem discs that my other drives couldn't, and ripped some CDs significantly faster (typically about 12x). Blu-rays were of course slower, about 4x.A few minor oddities or niggles, though not enough to drop a star.* An activity LED on the the front would have been nice for this price. Not strictly necessary I know, but practically every other drive I've used has had one, so I was surprised to find this didn't.* There's a power socket on the back, which is described in the manual as 5V 1.0A, but with no explanation of when it might be required, and no USB-to-jack power cable supplied. I presume you'd only need it if your USB port can't supply enough current via the USB-C connector. The drive works fine on my USB 3 laptop ports with just the supplied C to A cable (and also with my own C to C cable), but a clear explanation, and preferably a suitable cable, would have been helpful for anyone using a low-powered port.* As others mention, give that this has a USB-C socket, it's disappointing that a C to C cable isn't also supplied. My laptop has both A and C ports, so to avoid using up one of the two precious A ports I have to use an adaptor or my own C to C cable. C should be faster but I haven't tested this, as I imagine the drive speed would be limiting anyway.Some notes:* The manual says the physical eject button doesn't work on a Mac (I use Windows so this doesn't affect me)* Being a slot loader, there's no manual eject "paper-clip" hole. If necessary powering down and restarting should free up any drive lockup, but the manual suggests the Drive Utility (Pioneer's or Windows?) can be used for forced ejection. I know some people don't like slot-loaders, but I prefer it, and it's easier to use than a flimsy tray loader, on my cluttered desk. As long as you don't try odd-shaped discs, 8cm adaptors, or ones with dodgy sticky labels, you should be ok!* The box has a cryptic comment about PureRead 4+ which implies it won't work with USB-C only ports. It can be enabled in the Pioneer utility, but I haven't worked out exactly what it does, or how or whether it really works! [but see below]All in all , very happy with this drive, especially as it was on a deal and at a good sub-£100 priceUPDATE: I've been trying to understand how PureRead 4+ works. I gather it's essentially hardware error-correction built into the drive, that can be enabled with the Pioneer utility. Initially I came to think it was useless junk, because when enabled it didn't seem to prevent errors on bad disks, but also hid them from the ripping software (EAC or iTunes etc.), and showed red error blocks and "FATAL" status even perfect discs, and always showed a meaningless last transfer time of 158 hours or suchlike! It also seemed to cause a random fatal "unknown error" in iTunes during a rip. But I eventually discovered that this ONLY happens if you leave the Pioneer utility open while ripping - you have to use it to set PureRead (though only once, since the "+" version saves the setting to the drive), but then you MUST close the utility while ripping. Ok, if that's unavoidable fair enough, but a decent app should lock the drive or give a proper indication, not just go crazy!If you then reopen the utility after ripping, it will then correctly show the error status if any. The wizard "quality" option enables PureRead, but sets it to Master, which I think interpolates any missing data, so for archiving you probably want to change it to "Perfect", so it fails if there's an error and you can start polishing the disk with toothpaste and try again!
