It does what it says on the tin, it's a porous hose.However, we have found that it does not do what we wanted it to do - water our border - approx 500mm wide, which includes shrubs.What this product does is turn the soil underneath the hose to mud. If you want it to irrigate a flowerbed wider than approx 150mm you need to consider another product.

Hose needs to be straitened out and left for a day or two as it is very stiff. Have woven it through my flower beds and it waters the base of the plants so it can be used at any time of the day with no fear of the sun burning wet leaves. Just running for 30 mins seems to make the world of difference to my plants. Even after switching off I know any water still in the hose will slowly seep out.
