They look like a great idea, but they don’t actually work very good..The screw on top wouldn’t stay tight and they didn’t sharpen blades very well. So I went back to my bench grinder again.

I usually use an angle grinder to sharpen my mower blade. Using an angle grinder you have to be careful not to change the cutting angle of the blade for the best cutting results. You also have to be careful not to let the blade get out of balance or it will wobble and wear out your engine faster. When I saw these I thought I'd give them a try, thinking it might be easier to keep the cutting angle and balance right.When they arrived one of them had a broken sharpening stone. I threw that one away. It appears you can remove the screw and flip these over to use the other side when one side wears down, but they don't mention the stones being reversible so I didn't try it with the broken one in case there was a hairline or other damage crack I didn't see.So, do they work? Yes. Long story short, these are easier to use than sharpening the blade with a file. Not as easy as using an angle or bench grinder, in my opinion, if you're good with those tools. If a drill is all you have, these will do the job for you.
