This works exactly how it’s supposed to, but you have to use the proper scoring utensil. There are so many different ones sold in stores but It should be the one that feels the best for you and the one that scores the paper easily without breaking the paper. Also, if you feel your scorer slip out of the track, it’s not usually because you’re not pressing hard enough. It’s most often because there is some dust or something that is obstructing the channel and yes, dust will do it.

It's small but that's what I wanted- something I can take with me. It works great with 6x6 paper (or smaller) and the measurements on mine are accurate. The corner punch is a nice added bonus. I've only just started making junk journals and don't have a lot of supplies. The corner punch works great and comes in handy.

Small 5x7" board with Snap-On scoring tool, and the included punch cuts corners and notches. The back of the board has a score guide for envelopes from 2x3.5" to 5x7"and boxes from 2x2x2" to 8x8x2", with printed instructions for use. Front and back of board both marked in inches and centimeters. Also offers small embossing patterns on the back of the board. Backing board of package is printed full instructions for use with dimensions and diagrams. Clever design; total bang for one's buck!
