As other reviewers have mentioned, this is not an RJ45 jack, but an RJ11 jack with 8P8C wiring for some reason. Luckily the metal bracket is a keystone bracket that accepts any keystone RJ45 jack.

When this item arrived I could tell right away that while it *is* 8P8C, it is *NOT* a standard RJ45 connector. It looks like some weird 8 wire RJ11 (old analog phone jack), and it will *not* accept a standard Ethernet/RJ45 cable.I was about to write an angry review like the others, but then I took a closer look and it appeared that this is a metal plate that accepts any standard keystone jack. I used a screwdriver to pop this weird definitely-not-rj45-but-8P8C keystone jack out of the metal plate and grabbed one of the dozens of RJ45 keystone jacks I have. It fits just fine. Clearly this is a poorly described item, but it can be made to work relatively easily, and moreso, it can be used to adapt any keystone jack (HDMI, RJ11, USB, TOSLINK, etc., etc.) to a 15/16" bulkhead hole.

Very disapointed. Connector is for an 8 pin RJ11 (Which doesn't exist) and not for an RJ45.I'm using it for a DIY project so I've been able to trim down an RJ45 using a file. But it's not suitable for any standard cable.

it works acceptably, its not shielded and gives no access to cable shielding so watch out for that if you need it.its kind of annoying to get wires into the terminal blocks since they are facing in but this is the best product i could find of its type, so i can live with it.

Love the mounting and look. I had to struggle to get 22 gauge wire in the screw terminal blocks.
