If you commute by foot or bike in rainy weather, this pack is for you! It has the appearance of more upscale commuting bags, but provides great waterproofing for those rainy days. So you don't have to compromise between style and function. The bag has snaps on the sides that will let you expand or contract it depending on what you need to carry. There are two compartments inside, so you could carry your laptop in one and dry shoes in the other. Overall, it's a little expensive, but so is your laptop! I recommend it.

This is truly a special bag, especially if you live somewhere that is frequently and unexpectedly besieged by sudden deluges of water during particular seasons. It’s overall quite sturdy with the straps and snaps sewn in very well and the overall finishing of the bag is excellent. The fabric of the bag is a mysterious rubber coated sort of stuff that’s sorta like leather, sorta like rubber, and sorta like canvas, all rolled into one and dipped into a vat of rubber waterproofing so that, no matter what, as long as you have it properly closed at the top, your goods inside will stay safe, dry and protected from pretty much everything for the duration. The straps are long and wide and adjustable on the length. They’re reasonably comfortable as long as you don’t overstuff the bag, like I have a tendency to do. Overall, I’m crazy impressed with this bag and I’m very likely to order a couple of the other bags from this line and maker after I see how this one holds up for a while. Highly recommended! A+++

This is an incredibly high quality bag. It would make a better satchel than a back-pack, in my opinion. However, there exists no shoulder strap in order to accommodate that.The Poly base material is coated with an highly resilient waterproofing that is produced from a Poly-Urethane base.I was surprised at the fact that there is not much actual storage for a tote-bag of this size. There exists no pockets or sleeves either externally or internally!! The primary compartment is basically one single area with a very slightly padded sleeve in which to store a small IT device, such as a Kindle or a Tablet a tablet. Padding exists on only the back side of the sleeve with webbed netting on the opposing side.It is an aesthetically pleasing item that is an exceptional value considering its ultra high quality craftsmanship and materials.

I ride a bike almost every day (Honda VT750RS) and I take my laptop back and forth from home to work. I'm always terrified my MacBook pro will get destroyed from the rain; I'm not worried anymore. This Rains messenger bag is amazing at sloughing off the rain.I just drove through a torrential downpour and not a single drop of water got into this backpack. And trust me, I was REALLY worried.The backpack itself feels really nice being a soft rubber and I got the grey color so it matches with pretty much everything.The clasps on the bag help keep the stuff inside, inside so that's a huge plus but that leads to my MAJOR complaint about this bag:There is zero, none, zilch, nada padding on the shoulder straps. For a backpack of this high quality and high price not to have shoulder padding is ridiculous. I am very disappoint Rains. Very disappoint.
