I really did not know what a parallel pin punch was but this is exactly what I needed. I collect old military firearms and had an Israeli galil with a 1.4 mm pin that needed to be removed. Every SAE punch I have was too big. These are well made as you would expect and will no doubt last me a lifetime. I am very pleased.

If you need Metric Parallel Pin punches, this is a good set. Mine arrived all askew in the container. The finishing is lower quality than normal for German tools. However, they are sized correctly. They can also be used for certain AS applications as well (non Metric). The collet is adjustable so you can adjust how much of the punch end is exposed.

Die aufbewahrungsbox ist nicht, wie abgebildet aus plastik, sondern aus blech. Das produkt sieht auf den ersten blick gut aus. Die stahlspitzen sind jedoch leider sehr weich, sodass sie schon beim ersten benutzen aufpilzen. Den entstehenden grat kann man natürlich leicht wieder wegfeilen - das material leistet schließlich keinen widerstand. Ich habe mir mehr erhofft.

I needed a specific 7/64 punch size and most other sets on Amazon did not have that size. It worked for the task of changing pistol grips on a H&K gun but it was a pain to actually figure out which of the 8 punches in the set was the correct size. I went to the Rennstieg web site and found a chart the decoded the number stamped on each punch but the stamped number is actually very difficult to read in the first place. It took more force to move the pin than some user comments suggested.

This is apparently the punch set that H&K recommends for its armorers training classes. And the punches are sized metric to fit with H&K pistols. So that I why I bought the set to work on my VP9. The punches are well made and work well in the little use that I have given them. Two things would have made the punch set better: (1) if the punches were made with a balled tip to help center the punch on the pin, and (2) if the set came with several roll pin holders (starter punches) to help with reassembly. I may have to purchase additional punches and starters and the Rennsteig set was not cheap!
