My son and husband loves playing with the retro handheld game console. I haven’t learned how to use it because I play wordscapes on my phone and I played pinball as a teen and I played video games, but I want my husband to teach me how to use it. It looks like a lot of fun. My family loves to play fun games. The console is blue, our favorite color, and it’s small and lightweight and easy to carry in our backpack.

Très bonne console.Elle fonctionne effectivement avec les jeux GB advanced comme indiqué sur la page, du moins celui que j'ai essayé : Pokémon Rubis.Il faut parfois enlever et remettre la cartouche plusieurs fois avant qu'elle soit détectée, mais sinon c'est nickel.Essayé avec des jeux GameBoy classiques par curiosité : Ne fonctionne pas.Bonne ergonomie, et fournie avec 40 jeux rétros.C'est selon moi une superbe console portable, mais j'enlève une étoile, car je trouve le prix de 79.99 euros (au moment de l'évaluation) plutôt cher.Le prix de ce type de consoles rétros est assez variable, tellement il y a de variétés différentes, mais en général le prix est un peu inférieur à celui-ci.Dans tous les cas, je recommande.C'est un très bon produit, que ça soit pour jouer soi-même, ou pour offrir à quelqu'un qui joue.

First off, the bulletpoints for this are a lie. This only supports Game Boy Advance games, not Game Boy or Game Boy Color. It also claims to support Piko cartridges but those don't exist yet. Also, it works by dumping the roms, so flash carts and games with special hardware like Wario Ware Twisted won't work. I would be very very cautious about using games with save data. And by cautious I mean I wouldn't do it. Not even once.The bulletpoints also mention games like Smashing Drive, Big Karnak, and Mighty Warriors. Piko does own them but they're nowhere to be found here.So, what IS here? Well, a mix of good and bad.The screen is atrocious. It doesn't have adjustable brightness and the viewing angle is terrible, so no matter what you do many games are slightly unpleasant to look at. Turning down the brightness on Game Boy Advance games that support it makes the screen a lot more tolerable, but that's only a handful of games.Hilariously, the L and R buttons are found on the front of the handheld, which is great for pinball games and nothing else. The d pad is weirdly flat and dead (but at least it has a center pivot so you can't press opposite directions at the same time) and the buttons are a little clicky. But everything works okay on that front. Sound is good and decently loud, at least through the speaker.The included game list is a mix of great games, good games, okay games, and terrible games. This thing has a lot of potential but currently it doesn't even support gb or gbc carts. Unable to read sd cards with games added. Poor screen that is comparable to the GB300 (15 dollar handheld). The L and R buttons are located on the front of the device. Limited menu options. No brightness adjustment.... I do hope they make a better version though. It DOES play GBA cartridges.Edit: I pretty much cannot play this thing because the screen is so terrible. I feel like it is damaging to the eyes. Reduced to 1 star rating.

Zunächst muss man sagen, dass das Gerät einwandfrei funktioniert. Die voristallierten Spiele lassen sich gut spielen und sehen auch gut aus. (Also so, wie Retrospiele halt aussehen.) Ob das Abspielen von GBA Cartridges funktioniert, kann ich nicht sagen, da ich keine mehr besitze.Nagativ sind aus meiner Sicht zwei Punkte. Zum einen, sind es wohl eher unbekannte Spiele wie zum Beispiel Soccer Kid. (Die vollstädige Liste steht in der Artikelbeschreibung.) Zum anderen habe ich Sorge, wie lange die Buttons und insbesondere das Steuerkreuz halte werden. Das Kreuz klackt schon von Beginn an relativ laut - eher wie bei billigen Kontrollern als bei guten.Den Preis finde ich auch eher hoch. Andere ähnliche Geräte kosten 20-30 Euro weniger und haben mehr Spiele. Ob die "Pico-Lizenzen" den Preis rehtfertigen?

We're not particularly "gaming family", but when gaming, apart from modern games on Nintendo Switch, we love also these old 8bit and 16bit era games. Children love it for the relative simplicity of the games, and we adults love it for the nostalgic feeling. So when I saw this console, compatible with Game Boy Advance cartridges, I knew it would be a great addition to our Raspberry-based gaming console and Nintendo NES.So far, my ordered GBA cartridges didn’t arrive yet, so I can write the review just based on the experience with the supplied games, but we’re already very happy with this handheld console. Unfortunately there are no instruction how to make games on the SD card work — I tried everything and nothing has worked, like for other reviewers. The craftsmanship is very much above the level of the common cheap handheld console clones that cost 20 EUR, and quite fine with similarly priced consoles I’ve seen in gaming-focused electronics stores. The weight balance in hands is good, that’s important aspect I believe. The most used buttons have good feel to them, comparable to, for example, Nintendo Switch Joy Cons (or quality NES controllers), however the upper line with L and R is worse. So far no issues with missing button-presses.The supplied games are licensed, yet they are rather unknown games, mostly copies of some better known titles. They are surprisingly acceptable, and can entertain for hours. As with all these old games, you have to play repeatedly, to learn the game/enemy behavior, to progress. But that’s the same as with the A-titles of the era. There's only few great/known games included.If there’s something to really criticise, it’s the screen. For use outside, the brightness is not really sufficient when the weather is sunny, and when used inside you see the weird TFT gradient contrast effect on the screen at many angles (screen has different contrast based on angle you look at it). In the era when you can get pretty great 5” IPS screens for low price for your Raspberry project, screen on this console appears like unnecessary (and unwise) cost-cutting on manufacturer’s part. I guess anyone would happily pay 5 EUR more for better screen…If you want a console compatible with GameBoy Advance cartridges, you don’t have much choice on the market. This one is pretty good, the supplied games are entertaining, and is let down only by the mediocre screen, and promised and undelivered SD card support.
