I siliconed all the seams on this tent. In a light rainfall it holds up great. But I went on a week long backpacking trip and hit a night of heavy rain. Guess what, around 3am drops started to drip through onto my face. The inside of the slanted walls had light perspiration that formed into droplets. I’d say this tent is 99% waterproof. In heavy rain it won’t work. When it’s 40 degrees at night and everything in your tent starts getting wet, including your sleeping bag, and you’re not someone who likes to leave bad reviews, well, let’s say you’ll make an exception. Everything else about this tent is excellent…but you’re gonna wanna get a tarp to go over this for rainy nights, which kinda defeats the point of buying ultralight. My grandma always said, “quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.”_____Edit: after more use I am thinking the condensation buildup in low temperatures was the cause of so much moisture in the tent. Perhaps this is an issue with ventilation, I recommend opening your tent door on the opposite side of the angle of rainfall.

Love it for how light weight it is. Not too bad to setup, just practice in the backyard first. After some water proofing spray mine weighs 1lb 13.8oz as packed for the trail will all stakes, drawstrings and the stuff sack. it's a one piece tent, you will have some moisture on the tent wall in the morning, but I didn't get "rained" on. My only issues with the tent is that there is only one door toggle and it sits between the inner screen and outer wall, meaning I can only hold one door open at a time. the outer wall zipper did have a slight issue when staked too tightly, but not sure I should blame that on the tent. The zippers are buttery smooth. Would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. I've only used this one night. and had it staked the backyard an additional night. Haven't been rained on yet.

At 1.55 pounds including stakes right out of the bag, this tent is great for one person. The lightest weight tent I own, and at $170, is far cheaper than dyneema trekking pole tents. It does require seam sealing before use; be sure to choose seam sealant designed for sil-nylon so it sticks. Mine included a nice curved syringe for application.I was curious about the quality, but it seems to be very well made, the bathtub bottom seems waterproof. After the first setup, it was super easy. If you are familiar with trekking pole tents you should have no problems. Just remember to stake out the bathtub bottom at 45° angle to the tent first, then the fly corners, then put in the trekking pole to raise the body. The vestibule and fly wall stakes last.Quadzilla is taking this tent on the Appalachian Trail and loves it; great performance.

This is without a doubt the lightest and most compact tent I own. The material is fairly tough and very light, plus completely waterproof. Please note that the hiking pole in the picture is needed but is not included, but you do need to carry one. I suggest a lightweight carbon fiber pole as the one in the picture to go with this ultralight tent. It is very easy to adjust the tightness of the pitch just by adjusting your pole up or down a bit at any time, and this can be done once you are inside. It goes up easily even if there's a bit of wind, and you need a minimum of 6 stakes to set it up. Up to 9 or so if it's windier. The tie out areas for the stakes and guy lines are all reinforced with a stronger material so it should last a long time. The entrance has a T-shaped zipper (3 separate zippers meeting at the bottom center) and provides a fairly spacious vestibule in which you can cook or store your gear out of the rain when closed up. The floor is waterproof but fairly thin so I would recommend a piece of tyvek or thin plastic sheet cut to size to keep it from getting punctured and keep it clean.Although it is nominally a single layer tent, I would call it a one and a half layer. There is mesh all around the bottom edge, protected from water ingress by a generous overhang all around the base. Ther is also a pretty good sized vent a the top front, which is held open by the guy line at the front. This wil tend to hold down the condensation inside and allow for evaporation. It goes up quickly (about 2-3 minutes and seems to stay quite steady in the wind, owing to its pyramid shape. There is comfortable space inside for one person, even with a large sleeping pad. If you use the narrow oval pads it may be possible to squeeze in two people if they know each other well (wink, wink). It would be a tight fit, but nothing could be lighter for a 2 person shelter without having to spend several hundred dollars. You just can't beat the quality and compactness of this tent for the price.

My son used this tent on a 12 day backpacking trip in the Rocky Mountains, including a few nights of rain. The tent worked very well and the waterproofing worked fine. We made a footprint out of Tyvek. The tent was high quality, and the highly reflective guy lines were useful for visibility. The tent is very lightweight and highly compact. Great for ultralight backpacking. Make sure you buy enough 6 inch tent stakes. Also, there are a range of useful youtube videos that show you how to set up the tent, and various useful modifications which you can do.
