The picture shown of the item I thought I was buying was of a military rubber shovel cover. Not a canvas cover. Although the description was correct and said it was a "canvas cover". The photo was not. But, the canvas is much lighter, and works just as well I found out. And is very well made. And is the same olive green color as the rubber one that was shown. Looks great and protects other items from damage if placed in your back pack, or your motor vehicle. So it is worth the investment if the shovel you bought did not come with a protective case as mine did not when I bought my shovel new.

Have an old shovel with similar cover. I also got on shovel that had a rubber cover. the rubber cover weighs a ton. Got this cover to be like the old canvas light weight cover on my old shovel. fit good and weighs a lot less.

It was difficult to find an original vintage cover the shovel so I made some modifications for my vintage army folding shovel. Worked perfectly.
